GPU, most of the upper GPUs will be held back some what by the lower clocked x6 1045T but not that bad, I'd suggest you stay in the r9 280x or GTX 960 range.
What is your current gpu, motherboard and PSU?
Ram, download CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares.html and see if you're running dual channel.

You might as well grab HWMonitor ^ too if you don't have one.
Ps, I had a 280x with my old x4 965BE it ran well.
well my computer is a Dell studio xps 7100
brand/model
if its a 300w, get a gtx750ti
so what should i get
if its the oem/dell 460w, a r9 270 will be ok, if it will fit in the case
measure from the rear io panel to the hdd cage to see how long of a gpu will fit
oh and does it matter what kind of r9 270 like is there a major difference from MSI r9 270 and a r9 270?
Good price on the 270x $120 after mir ^. Maybe it's time to swap out the psu so you can get better cards.

Corsair CX 600w $43 after mir and Evga 600w b refurb $40. ^
