What Windows service does Steam use?
I have disabled a few services on my Windows 7 Home Edition, since I would never need them. However now Steam fails to load some *.ini file for localisation or something of the sort, so I was wondering which Windows service does Steam use.

And, no I am too lazy to enable them one by one to find out.

Please, only people who actually know what they and I are talking about answer.

Don't anyone even dare tell me not to mess with Windows services.

What be helpful to know what u turned off / disabled from startup then.
Otherwise it's pointless to guess or go further.

However, failure for Steam to load a file really has not a thing to do with Windows Services.
Install Steam Client to C:\Steam ~ then shouldn't be an issue.

Generally if u disabled something that would interfere with Steam Client working, there would be many other apps (or OS functions) not working correctly.

I don't use this comp that often so it has only bare essentials (Steam being one of them), therefore it is not much else to fail.

I am guessing it has to do with the services, since I have changed nothing else, but hey - stranger things have happened.

I will provide a list tomorrow, though.

Thanks for your reply! :)
