Soundbar or speakers?
Hello.

I'm currently very tired of using headphones for several reasons.

Would you kindly recommend me a soundbar and or speakers of very high/high quality to use with my pc?

Thank you!

I would never want to go back to speakers for gaming.
What is the reason why you feel tired of using headphones?
Speakers every time for me... old hi-fi shelf speakers. They work great.

cant beat a good set of bookshelf speakers for 5.1+ setup
sound bar can have decent sound, but not good lows or channel separation
a decent bookshelf will have wider freq range and can be positioned anywhere
DALI Oberon 3[www.richersounds.com] these sound nice or if you have space for floor standing DALI Oberon 7.
you could get a monitor with built in speakers. usually asus and acer monitors have built in speakers. also AOC monitors.

I went with a sound bar.

Monitor speakers are hit and miss, but mostly miss.

It really depends on your actual budget.

Luckily, speakers are kind of buy once, cry once kind of affair, as in good second hand speakers will still sound good now.

For competitive games I find headphones are better, especially with friends, can't really use a mic with speakers booming.

But, for everything else, I love my full surround 7.1.2 setup, speakers are old other than the atmos pair and I run them through a denon x4700h, brings games to life in a way headphones just can't.

I'd recommend 5.1 setup using second hand parts, the extra 2 surround (7.1 instead of 5.1) are a subtle add, but not really that special.

Atmos is nice, so if you get an amp/a reciever that can handle that or be extended in the future, it's cool to have, I plan to add a second sub and 2 rear atmos speakers in the future, but thst will require an extra Amp as my av reciever can only power 9 speakers.
Good quality speakers.

The sound bar can come later if you really wanted it but speakers > sound bar for all purposes (just do not get junk or expensive trash).

True Stereo is the way to go but expensive, while simulated/modified stereo can deliver great cost on performance.

I jumped the gun here talking about Digital Audio interfaces/external sound cards but same rings true with speakers as well in some instances especially when talking about surround sound capabilities.

I have a pair of small, second-hand studio monitors (Edirol MA-15D) as PC speakers. Really nice sound.

I run a spare set of Bose 301's that i had , on a Denon amp i had after i bought a new one for the TV setup.

to me it was worth it , sounds much better than a pc speaker setup.

I used to have a set of 301's Series 3, great sounding speakers, kind of a trippy sound to them.
