It's better off at 1080p, if you want to move up to 1440p or 2160p you should upgrade your GPU.
1440p+DLSS quality will look better than native 1080p while running about the same. VRAM requirement will also be similar.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle expects a 12700k and a 3080 ti 12 gig. to hit 1440p60
Assassin's Creed Shadows wants a 3080 with an 11400k to hit the same target.
Looks like games are starting to require ray tracing in some capacity (although Assassin's Creed Shadows does list some non ray-tracing cards for 1080p, so maybe not).
