144hz or 240hz monitor

is there a noticable difference? when i upgraded from 60hz to 144hz it was 2 different worlds but would i notice a big difference upgrading now to a 240hz monitor?
i need a second monitor what will be a 1440p monitor and my current one is 1080p 23inch and 144 hz and i probably gonna use my current one as the second monitor but i cant decide for the main one. either i get 144hz again 27inch and 1440p or i get something with higher refresh rate like 180hz or 240hz give me some advice

For your 4070super I would recommend you get a OLED, 240hz, 1440p, gsync, 27inch.

I was using a 60Hz IPS, then a 144Hz IPS then a 160Hz OLED.

The biggest difference was the OLED. It is so much smoother.

It made me wonder whether people were impressed with higher refresh rates or whether higher quality panels are just inherently smoother even at lower refresh rates.

Anyway, if I were you, I would consider an OLED.

I've gone this exact route. I went from a 144hz to a 240hz monitor and I couldn't tell any difference whatsoever. I'm sure it's there obviously but I physically couldn't tell any difference gaming between 144hz and 240hz. I ultimately ended up going 2 ultra wide 3440x1440 for the screen space for work but you would be totally fine w/ the 144hz monitor.

Use in games signs with big text and start to move the mouse fast that’s where you see the difference. Use a smart phones slo mo camera and you really would see the difference. 144hz is a smeary mess unless on an oled. Fast IPS can’t do basic human eye level motion clarity until 260 ish fps I own them an found this out by trial and error.
