5800X3D for gaming. If that is no longer available the 5700X3D.

often its best to keep the cpu/mobo/ram combo together and use for another pc build

if you want a better cpu, get a board that has its correct chipset and new ram
5700X3D and 5800X3D are best you can get for AM4 socket and are actually keeping that socket alive and kicking.

Is your GPU strong enough? For anything below RTX 4070 or RX 7700XT upgrading your processor doesn't make sense (if gaming is the goal).

The 5600x is more than sufficient for any game, there is no reason to upgrade at this time.

Save for money. Dont buy new stuff. Gossip is this am6 will launch 26 so am5 price get lower. New tech may fairly affordable.
i agree with most others here, save up and move to AM5 over upgrading your current socket
if you still had like a 3600 then a 5700x3d or 5800x3d would make sense but you have a 5600x which is already pretty decent.

amd really likes to stretch out socket life as far as possible

am4 went from fx based athlons to ryzen 1xxx-5xxx

i highly doubt am5 will only be for 7xxx-9xxx cpus

There's no point in spending the money on another AM4 CPU, the performance uplift would be too minimal unless you had a really high end GPU like a 4090 and ran at 1080p

Better off saving your money and moving up to AM5

Well some folks don't have $ 600-800+ to go AM5 (CPU + MB + DDR5)

There is a actually significant improvements just going from a 5600X to a 5700X3D (replaced the 5800X3D a while ago) and such a CPU could easily handle a 4080 Super or 5080

Even the best that AM4 has to offer in terms of gaming performance (5800X3D) is basically matched by a 7600X, it's more sensible to just wait because the 5700X3D isn't all that much faster than the 5600X, both would be fine with a high end GPU.

No point wasting extra money on a dead platform when you're already on Zen3, that money should be saved and put towards a 7800X3D or 9800X3D which would actually be a substantial change across the board.

If you can't afford AM5 right away, all the more reason why you shouldn't be wasting money on small upgrades that won't make much of a noticeable difference.

Well if you can find a decent but not sorely over-priced AM5 Motherboard that doesn't limit you to like 2x NVME SSDs; then maybe go with a 7700X or 9700X CPU.

Since the mark ups for 7800X3D and 9800X3D are ridiculous.

I paid maybe $330 for my 7800X3D; but when they were getting really popular, everyone online had them going for like $400-450+

But yes if you really want the PC to last beyond 2030, AM5 would be best.

For that I would just start saving up and do a new build and leave the 5600X as-is.

You could always add more RAM, better GPU, and more or higher capacity SSDs to that AM4 setup.

Thank you guys. I think i will keep the 5600X,. I always search for upgrades, even the minimum, where i can sell my atual hardware to buy a new one, Thats why i ask. The prices in my country are ridiculous, like, our currency is R$5,81=1US, furthermore our taxes, just so you have an ideia, a RTX4090 is 15k in our currency. Far beyond what an average citizen can easily achieve
But, thank u guys for help me.

And 5600X even though it's 6 cores is actually better overall performance compared 3800X
