PC Gamers are Sheep
A shame that any of you are still chasing frames as if hundreds of additional fps is going to make that game any better ... Wasn't Last of Us a hit at 30 frames on PS3? That's like 200 fps less than what you playing it at today and you enjoyed it all the same. Instead of demanding better overall games and better optimization from developers PC gamers are still raptured in frame chasing; thus allowing Nvidia to sale you the same minimally upgraded GPU's over and over convincing you to shell out thousands!

Do digital sheep truly believe that more frames mean better games?

Thanks for sharing that you are jealous of those who can afford better luxury items to have a better overall experience.

30fps has always sucked, consoles just had no other option

^ this

you are welcomed to stay at your sub 30fps slideshow gaming if you wish

but over 60fps on a 60hz display doesnt help
its only showing 60 complete frame/sec, with vsync off its frame pieces stitched together with tear lines, or with vsync on its dropping frames

Try 30 interlaced and then tell us it's "it's going to make that game any better" than 60/120/144. :cozycastondeath:

So PC gamers need luxury technology to play the same game over and over .... the same game that runs, plays, and looks exactly the same on your 1080, 2080, 3080, 4080, and 5080

i think you're confused. And focusing on a single issues you can't see the forest for the trees.

Does how The Last of Us runs on a PS3 make it better? I mean you're poo pooing people wanting better performance, why? Because you don't care about it? Typical. Your concerns are the only ones that matter.

What exactly is the problem with running good games better than consoles can?

If someone could wave a magic wand and make your console twice as powerful, somehow I don't think you'd turn your nose up at that. And yet you turn your nose up at the idea of some people deciding to do it for themselves on the PC platform. Kinda just reads like rank jealousy.

Also don't confuse hardware enthusiasts with all PC gamers. It's easy to do, but an obvious misstep. There's plenty of people running low end machines willing to play games at 720p, low settings and sub 30 FPS.

PC's aren't subject to the limits of consoles. And you can't shame people into artificially limiting their PC's to satisfy you.

And finally, it's not like extra performance hurts games either. And if the option is available why wouldn't some people opt in? Are you really complaining about people acting like people?

Need? No, like and want, yes, who wouldn't want a smoother higher fidelity experience?

Not a single person if they are being honest.

Why buy new consoles? Why buy a new TV, a car, phones etc, why upgrade or replace anything that still works?

Simple, it's because we want to abd can afford to for a nicer experience, it really is not that complicated.

Now a question to you OP, why are you so angry with how others choose to spend their hard earned money?

Does it have ANY impact on you?

Go forth and enjoy the experience that you do, that I want something more in no way can detract from your enjoyment.

Enjoy what you have abd don't try to measure your enjoyment against others, you'll be much happier, I mean, I cannot afford a porsche, doesn't mean I'm not happy with my new scenic alpine just because others can.

Cool bro, story.

I'm no fps snob (don't really see the point in going above 60, but my vision sucks. And I'm cheap. :D), and I'm okay with playing games at 30. . . but even I can tell there's a difference between 30 and 60.

Please tell us who is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy any of these. Oh, no one is doing that? What a surprise!

Or is your issue that other people are spending THEIR money in ways you don't approve? Why would you care how others are spending THEIR money? It isn't impacting your finances at all.

But as was said:

I drank the Nvidia Kool Aid up to purchasing a 3070 ti and that is where it ends for me. There is absolutely nothing, not a frame, not a reflection, not a shadow, not a ray trace or any other nonsense Nvidia spews that's going to make these old games any more enjoyable or different experiences than they were when you played them on your old tech.

As a matter of fact many should admit you had way more fun with these games in the past because they were new and innovative now it's all recycled. GTA 5 again, Cyberpunk again, Red Dead again, literally the same games they use to show off so called new technology every year!

According to Nvidia they can't do it without AI and yeah that's 100% true, but they are talking about you not the software, you are the artificial persons that pretend you can physically detect the difference between 300 and 200 fps. There is no game on this planet that requires 300 frames to be enjoyable. A well made and optimized game doesn't need hundreds of fake frames all vying to convince you that "now you're playing with power!"

Stop being suckers to Nvidia frame chasing and demand developers optimize their games, its the same Cyberpunk youve been playing for 4 years yet you think you're experiencing something new!

If all you want to play is old games at low fps then, sure, you have no need to upgrade.

I enjoy the more detailed richer worlds we are getting and the smoothness 120+fps creates along with the clarity of 4k.

A quick glance at your games suggest you don't really play new games and likely have never seen just how immersive stuff like cyberpunk 2077 maxed out can be.

Personally I am looking forward to playing it again with the vr mod.

then why are not all games ported to the ps2 since that was clearly the best console ever

To be fair, the PS2 had a ridiculously good library of games. :D
