Legit link i bought my last 2 pc here and last one nearly 6 year ago and been waiting on the 5080 to come out which is tomorrow.

This is in my price range just abit above mind you and just wanted some advice. I dont build my self as ive no confidence. What you think of the specs. I know you dont know the make of the components etc but are the specs good like ram mhz etc.

Thanks.

PS in the link it says 480 super i just think its a place holder link or something. You cant even buy the PC yet until tomorrow so things could change but are these specs ok if for sale like this.

They probably will lock all your cores so that you won't have a degradation issue... I'm certain of it since these guys are incredibly tech savvy.

Also what kind of excuse is that? No confidence? Are you trying to pick up your high school crush for a prom date?
Ever built a Lego set for 8yo? Do you have the mental and physical capacity to do so? Then build it yourself. If it doesn't break within 24-48 hours of stress testing then you are fine

Stopped buying from OCUK when they sold out to Caseking.

Personally I'd look to pair the GPU with an AMD CPU for better performance and reliability.

Skipper, I once bought a prebuilt from OCUK, it was the last time I ever bought anything from them, and I would never buy anything from them ever again.

I just tried to find the post I made about my experience on the Ars Technica forums, curiously checking my post history, twice, it appears to have been deleted, along with the pictures, which is a shame.

Long story short, the packaging was simply the case box, which is fine for an empty case, but not one full of components. Out of the box, the case had a massive dent in the back left corner, I called them and they said they would replace the case, I said no, I want a new PC, fudge knows what had happened and there could have been hairline fractures on the mobo/gpu and the mechanical drives could be buggered.

They said they would test everything, replace the case and return, I said I wanted a refund, they said no, the system was built to order and could not be refunded. 48 hours after the computer was returned to me, it was the old PC, in a new case (I marked all the components with a UV marker), they had the system a day, I'm sure they rebuilt it and "tested" it.

Literally days after the warranty expired, the mobo, cpu and RAM died, upon inspection, on the rear of the mobo, there was a hairline crack across a third of the board.

You have been warned.

I have also had prebuilts from PCSpecialist and Scan

PCSpecialist, is limited in component options and in some cases you might not know exactly what you are getting, specifically the GPU, with Scan, you can swap out anything for anything they have in their store, if you know exactly what you want you can email them for a totally custom quote.

I cannot comment on PCSpecialist or Scan after sales, as I didn't have a problem with either system, Scan however are more than happy to chat till the cows come home helping you with questions about a build.

With regards the actual builds, PCSpecialist made an error with my order, I selected extra fans and added notes where I wanted said fans, instead they removed the fans that came with the AIO and installed the extra fans on the AIO and did not send me the actual fans that came with the AIO, I eventually got sent "some fans", also the PCSpecialist build was supposed to come with a Uplay key for a game as part of a GPU promotion, the key didn't work, and their response to that was contact the GPU manufacturer as it wasn't their promotion.

As for the Scan build, I sent an OCD list of exactly how I wanted the build, where to put what fans and where to connect them, where to put the SSD, etc, etc and the build was exactly as I asked for, the only mistake was they did not connect a Noctua fan controller PWM cable to the motherboard, the cable was in the box of unused parts and it was easily fixed.

When the time comes my next build would be from Scan.

I bought my last one 6 years ago from them. It wasnt pre built but the people on forums put parts together and then asked ocuk to build it. Only thing wrong was stock of the mobo i ordered which said in stock at the time. It was the x570 aorus master but after a month of promises they decided to upgrade me to a x570 pro for free.

Ive not really had problems with pc until now. I didnt think the price for the 3080 or 4080 was worth the upgrade so i waited until the 5080 to buy a complete new machine.

Only problem ive had with OCUK are the forums and thats totally different to site it self.

The value looks really bad in my opinion. Looks like they want to get rid of items that don't sell.
People avoid 14900KS after the degradation fiasco. I think we've just got like 6th BIOS update that suppose to fix the problem "for sure this time".
5600 RAM sounds bad for the CPU. The main reason to go Intel is for amazing tuning and super fast RAM support while you are buying wasted potential here. I think you could build an AMD 9800x3D + 5090 for the price (if available at MSRP). Or 9800x3D + 5080/4080super for £1000 less.
We've already seen that the 5080 is a joke.

Plus, in places like UK the 5080 and 5090 are going to be EXTREMELY limited in availability

You're probably better off getting. 4080 Super or 4090

But thankfully tech illiterate don't know that. Just in this forum people were sincerely believing huang's claim that the 5070 is on par with the 4090. Never underestimate the average consumers ignorance
Pc specialist aftercare is not too bad. They have a tiered warranty plan. However, a point I want to make is a few months ago I had to return an out of warranty laptop to PC Specialist for a new screen. Reasonable price for new screen and the fitting of it which cost me around £150. It was a 165hz 1440p screen fwiw.
