4K vs 1440p
I picked up a 1440p OLED after using a 1440p IPS for 6 years. The OLED experience has been amazing. I did manage to see an Alienware QD-OLED 4K display for about the same money, so I decided to buy that as one last sanity check before committing to a new display going forward. I currently have a 4070 Ti, but I don’t max out my graphics in games. Has anyone played at 4K using this GPU? How has it been? I’m totally happy relying on DLSS as well. I already do

DLSS3 at 4K is close to free performance.
DLSS4 at 4K with the new AI transformer model is free performance while literally looking better than native.
The upscaling part of DLSS4 is available for 40xx series as well.
I would personally go for 4K120 LG 48 inches gaming TV for the most premium single player experience. (Or samsung QD-OLED)

This is insightful! Thank you. The Alienware is a 240hz at 32 inch display. Basically has all the same tech as my 1440p one.

it depends if your happy with 60fps you maybe able to hold it in some games
but a 4070ti is not optimal for 4k personally 1440 is going to be a much better experience
across the board gameplay graphics as you wont be tanking games settings
trying to hold 60fps. with 1440 is by far the wiser choice.you'l be on high settingss
and using ray tracing and other settings that enhance graphics.rather than
struggling on med and low with additional features on low or off

Why not use DLSS and upscale 1440p to 4K?

Yeah, this is valid. I’d have to really experiment with it. I don’t personally need my games reaching 144 for example. I’m willing to make trade offs if it still looks and feels pleasant to me. By like I said, I gotta see it for myself. I know everyone reacts to this differently. I have heard that DLSS 4K Performance still looks better than 1440p DLSS Q. So to some degree it would be a lateral shift. Thank you for the reply!
