There a people buying 1500 bucks smartphones literally every 2 years following hype waves while others having more intelligence and capable of judging the différence betweeen needs and hyped buying addictions will buy a smartphone for 300 bucks and use it for 5 or 6 years.
Having a 5090 will not bring a better gaming experience than having a 2060 a 3080 or else.
Unless you want to play on a movie theater screen at 60 fps, I suggest you to wait for the 90XX series in just a few years, if you can afford the price, that said.
And just a simple question: why do you rely on other people's opinion on a forum concerning another guy's opinion in a video ?
This is quite interesting I must say....
I’m buying the 5080 for the 1st gen dlss games like Dying Light 1 on sale it costs peanuts too. And with the NV app I can easy swap dlss DLL or swap in DLAA that’s the good bit with waiting
That said, if I had the money, I'd buy it immediately.
🤷♂️
Even discounting DLSS4, the 5090 is still impressive, and given the performance of the 2-slot FE cooler, it's absurdly good, the only flaw is in the pricing
LTT is a moron for sure, but everyone who has early access has reported 30%+ increase over 4090 just in raster performance; that gap also slightly widens with RT and especially with full RT / Path tracing. Add in its performance with DLSS with or without MFG and it is a significant increase gen-on-gen. In most games GN tested the 1% and .1% lows at 4K were higher than the average FPS of the 4090. MFG works well and looks great, DF's Alex should have a video going up on their channel shortly covering DLSS4 in some depth but overall the new transformer model is a significant improvement and running DLSS4 with Quality upscaling and MFG frame rates on CP2077 path tracing mode is running lower latency than native without DLSS and at 200+ FPS.
If you are on a 30 series 3090/3090Ti it is an absolutely massive increase in performance across the board. 70% - 100%+ uplift, again without taking into account any DLSS or frame gen.
Let me see. It only makes sense for someone to buy it if using for professional work. It means it is used to make money & some sort of tax benefit.
The over-hyped 4x frame generation is dubious. That was the main 'feature' when promoting the cards.
The lag associated with it, is supposed to be fixed with reflex 2. Where is reflex 2?
I turned my RTX 3080 into an RTX 4090 with the lossless scaling application (sarcastic distain towards nvidia).
If nvidia make ludicrous comment like that, then so can I.
It is a cheap application you can get on steam, which I use for frame generation.
It is unsuitable for fast paced games, but seems suitable for slow paced GPU intensive 'pretty' games.
Buy the application or not - do not care.
Those are my thoughts.
Worth upgrading - hard no!
I am curious about the RTX 5070 benchmarks. I am not buying it, as the 12GB VRAM I think is an insult to gamers.
It would give get a rough idea of the performance of the fabled RTX 5060 ti 16GB. I may be interested in that one.
There you go.
Interesting.
I could buy one if I wanted to, but not worth it.
I tried cyberpunk today w/ the new DLSS 4 patch and transformer engine and at 3440x1440 no RT i was getting 200+fps. Running a 9800x3d and 4080 super. So it definitely adds more frames.. in my case about 20% or 40fps.
Frame generation aye?
Swaying?
Firstly it is a problem with fast paced shooters. Perhaps reflex 2 could help but it is not out yet.
The shooters I play are perfectly fine with my present GPU.
The most popular on steam is counter strike 2, with no DLSS support.
As for the pretty and graphically demanding and slower paced games, frame generation can be a benefit. All frame generation will involve lag.
I just instead spent a whole $7 US on the lossless scaling application. I use that instead.
Just because I have the cash to afford it, does not mean I will buy it.
It is a factor in why I have the cash in the first place.
I suggest you read the other reply from me in this thread.
Glad I refunded it.
Feel free to not use it. that is fine.
If you wish, you can pay for an RTX 5000 card instead for slightly better visuals with frame generation, where the game must have DLSS. Oh and where is reflex 2 to help with the associated lag?
