For those going to get a 5080, which ones are you eyeing?
I am still deciding between the ASUS Astral OC or the MSI Trio OC (white). I like the designs of both and especially like the color of the MSI.

I am curious to see how tight the ASUS will be in my 5000D Airflow. Should be about the same as a 4090 from what I checked. It will fit but it will be big (lol). So I am considering that point.

Anyway, what ya'll eyeing?

I was a MSI buyer for decades but will not buy another after their motherboard update for the 14900k nuked my MSI motherboard. B760M.
First BIOS update I have ever had that nuked hardware.

. . . .
I, eye the possibility of the there was this time when Nintendo was going to have its next system work on how many are in the household would be the graphically level.

This is going to be how many are on the block, burg, town, city.

This will be more on how does it finally rid USB porting for laptops and wireless connection to monitors at the level where not sure whose tv where is this being used on.
Cuda cores for system at 5090 to todays stands of gpu is x4...

seeing
ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY and ZOTAC,

seeing also the laptops will be

Acer, ASUS, Dell, GIGABYTE, HP, Lenovo, MECHREVO, MSI and Razer.

SO can I slide a Laptop into a desktop or against it?

I going for the 5090, but going for rule if the cheapest, there won't be any perfirmance difference and all the cards have the same power limit, I'll be watercooling it anyway, id like an asus one purely to get another optimus block as I love the look, but, paying the asus tax is just daft.

I hit my 3090 strix at msrp and my 4090 strix fir only £1300 as it had very minor delivery damage, but the block isn't worth likely having to drop £800 extra for it and the card
5090 suprim 99% sure at this point unless something else comes up will stay far away from asus, gigabyte for obv reasons....

Looking at the 5070. Will be my first xx70 GPU, after using xx60 forever. Probably going with Zotac again, as my Zotac 3060 Ti has given me no problems. Wondering how much more than the Founder's Edition it will cost. Tempted to just get the Founder's Edition instead.

Is there any reason I should avoid the Founder's Edition 5070? I'm not looking for bling, as my case is opaque.

Founders have reliably been found to be amongst the best chips since they were introduced, only held back a bit by cooler / noise vs the high end aib stuff.

If asus isn't stupidly more expensive than zotac, I'll go there purely for optimus block, else zotac ftw, usually very close to founders price
I prefer the FE cards, build quality is excellent. I should also point out that the 5090FE is the only SFF ready card right now, smallest available 5090 SKU at this point in time.

Just signed up for notification at the NVidia site, probably going with FE.

Also just realized I have 600W and need a new PSU. Made a separate thread asking for advice in this decision.

Whatevers cheapest I couldn't care less about brands or cooler design, no reason to pay tier about pricing for a fancy design when performance is basically identical on all of them. Gigabyte is often cheapest so I guess that works, and whichever isnt ridiculously oversized and fits in the case.
MSI Supreme on my region always the cheapest, but i will wait Strix from ASUS, if we gonna spend big, why not big all

FE is really good. Enthusiasts and those want to overclock are usually the ones that get the AIBs

For 5080, go with 1000w (or higher). I recommend the RMx 1000w by Corsair. Only $200 and it comes with a native 12V 2x6 for the card. Also ATX 3.1 as a plus for future proofing. Make sure to get the 2024 version.

As far as I can tell, no card has a higher power limit or more than the 4 into 1 cable every other card has this gen (for 5090), so I don't think who makes it will affect anything, it will all be down to cooling.

For cooling, a bykski waterblock, rad and pump with the cheapest card will out perform the most expensive aio or air cooled card and be cheaper :)

I realize this is a 5080 thread, but I've decided on the 5070, since I'm poor. :amadeus_happy:

You mention "obv. reasons." Could you elaborate? I know there was controversy and issues with them when some of their Mobo had messed up mosfets and bricked mobos. But I have never had any issue with them. I have been running their mobo for 2 yrs now without issue and the Strix cards consistently get really good ratings. So I am just curious what your reasons are for not going with them.
