What's my GPU worth?

Hey, me again! I just saw that the 5070 was revealed, and that it'll have some decent power behind it for a good price. I currently have an AMD Merc Speedster 7900xt, and was thinking about selling it when it came out to afford the 5070.

Obviously I know it's not gonna cover the whole cost, especially since it's used, but if I did sell my GPU, how much do you think it'd be worth?

just like i said on this kind of post, FOMO is hell of drug
always stay way any Forum when there is new card on the block
that is call of consurism
nothing can fill your void in your heart buy buying expensive stuff
or people do like oh my fps drop 143? at 144hz well time to buy new card lol

the point of high refresh rate monitors is the smoothness and low latency, if the fps drops below that then your game won't be smooth and it is either: PC is bad or the game sucks, i personally upgrade every generation to achieve 200+ on everything that i actually play, good example is cp77, looks blurry with the forced TAA, mediocre FPS at just 155~ in the busy city on ultra, unacceptable FPS on a 180hz monitor, the 5090 will fix this

i forgot to say that I'll just play a different game mb but would be nicer to have higher fps on a mediocre game

As someone with a 7800x3d/4090 on a 240hz OLED who has tried frame generation, you haven't played at 200+fps in CP2077 above 1080p without frame gen. The 5090 won't change this.

Well you aren't getting that so it is what it is. Also, overclocking a 4090 is basically pointless for anything other than 3dmark. Max your power limit out and let it run... Anything you try over that is single digit improvements at best.

Honestly, I had no idea, I'm not really tech savvy myself so I'm not even sure what that means. Believe it or not a major driving factor is the fact that the 7900XT's drivers are just complete ass; half of my games barely work since I switched to AMD, including some older favorites like New Vegas and Fallout 3.

You don't just buy a graphic card because a new one comes out. That's the exact type of customer Nvidia wants.

You never want to have an imbalance of knowledge and money PC. Balance out your knowledge with your money and you won't waste it on meaningless upgrades.

This post is a good example of the fomo that Nvidia marketing creates causing users to turn in perfectly good graphic cards for overpriced fake frame garbage.
