The Nvidia app is stupid
All people want to do is update their drivers/change resolution / add a custom resolution / change some of the graphics card settings...

we don't need tile format UI to do that

The control panel could just have an option to update drivers on the bottom left corner....

AMD's version is even worse
Nvidia trying to make you use the Windows Store and register an email to use their software was a major reason I dumped them entirely.

But I must admit, their control panels have always been cleaner and nicer than Radeon's edgy (aka. "tacky") red and black eyesores.

The last paragraph is the reason why I don't like AMD at all.
We need to bring back simple lists with text describing what it does.. it would seem like that would cost less money to produce then SmartTV-based interfaces for everything

Smart TV based interfaces are so crappy to me.

The PS3s OS interface, the XMB was the best
and fillers wont work on old games

+1
the mobile interface for anything on desktop or pc should be dumped immediately
including windows

thats why windows 8 start screen menu was dumped so fast
Complaining here would not do much
Get about gpu

Still better than AMD's suite and at least you have one, there isn't a real control panel at all if you use Linux like I do.

Perspectives; you're complaining about something that really isn't worth complaining about.

if enough complain on nvidias forums they might do something, but its unlikely
People updating software blindly... :badluck:

The blind leads the blind, just watch the fun.

I tried it, but went back after a few days. It doesn't really offer anything I am interested in.

I believe it will be forced on people sooner or later, but for now I will do without it.

You really like the old panel? I'm a sucker for old look but the old panel was terrible. Freezes upon clicking anything, seemed like it would crash at anytime and no dark mode. It truly sucked and the new app is much better. The driver option is right there.

The new app is nowhere near a mobile interface. Bigger buttons ≠ designed for mobile. If it truly was mobile then all the options on the left side would be hidden in a hamburger menu and would be big as ♥♥♥♥ when expanded. (see Windows 11's UI design) I swear people are looking for reasons to be mad.

Also let's not forget that this app also replaces Geforce Experience which is the real dumpster fire.

if you had problems like that with the old gpu control panel, there were major problems with the system

it does not freeze at all, takes no time to switch between tabs or change settings
it didnt need dark mode, get used to it

on the new one, stuff is hidden under so many menus, the old one had a tab for each page of settings that you could instantly switch to

everything with win10-22 by default is a mobile interface, large square buttons with no styling at all
compare that with the latest android settings menus

As for freezing, I'm talking about when you change a setting, it freezes for a second. Yes it is a minor convenience but still.

I'm saying that Win11's UI is what a mobile interface looks like. I really don't consider the new NVIDIA app's design to be mobile centered. Sure the settings are under more menus now but it doesn't matter. And it isn't inherently a mobile thing.

As for dark mode, there is no getting used to it. I have issues with my eyes. It physically hurts my eyes. More accessibility is not going to hurt anyone. You get used to it.
I haven't used the nVidia App, so I can't comment on execution, but the concept was absolutely needed.

When I changed to AMD and tried Adrenalin, it showed me everything that was wrong with nVidia's driver ecosystem. Adrenalin is basically what the control panel and GeForce Experience get you, and while there is an account feature, it's not mandatory. Maybe I'm alone here, but I don't have any problems with Adrenalin. Like, yeah, Red isn't my favorite, but that's Radeon's color and it's not a big deal to me. nVidia is Black and Green so it's the same deal with a different color and logo. The only minor annoyance I could mention is that the option to access it in the right click context menu doesn't only show up when right-clicking on the desktop like nVidia, but it also shows up in explorer folders. I imagine there's possibly a Regedit workaround but it's so minor of a thing that it hasn't bothered me enough to even look it up to change it.

The nVidia control panel was very sluggish, lacked features (namely, recording, metric monitoring, fan control and overclocking, etc.), and looked outdated. The fact that you had to compliment it with GeForce Experience, RTSS + Afterburner, OBS, Riva Turner, etc., etc. is proof enough of how lacking it was.

I absolutely agree that OS and software UI in the last decade is leaving much to be desired. Unfortunately, ever since mobiles became internet capable and more common, the internet and much software has started to adopt UI and layout that is tailored towards that as the lowest common denominator. I don't like it either... but the control panel had the same issue in the opposite direction. It was something that literally had Windows XP's oft-called "Fisher price" look. That paired with it's lack of performance and lack of features, it needed changed.
