Case and PSU question
I am currently in the process of finding the right PSU for my build and I have couple of psus that I'm looking at right now. They are
Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 1050W
beQuiet Straight Power 11 Gold 850W
Corsair RM850x Shift (it's almost impossible to find non shift version over here)

I originally planned to go with Dark power 13 850W but it's a bit out of my budget.

The one I like the most out of these is Corsair shift one but I have a couple of questions about it.
Since I'm planning to buy beQuiet Shadow Base 800FX will Corsair shift psu fit. On the Corsair site, it states that Shadow Base 800 is compatable with shift psu but nothing is said about Shadow Base 800FX (according to the internet, difference between FX and non FX is that FX has built in fan hub but I want to check over here just in case). Also, on beQuiet site, there are couple of images of the said case where it's clear that there is more space on the left where psu shourd is.
So onto the final question
Will Corsair RM850x Shift fit with cables into this case after the back panel is placed and how much can these cables bend (and are they safe to bend unlike 12VHPWR)

Shift are rather weird with their sideway ports, not sure how would you even fit cables there.
Instead of this gimmick that seems to be designed to some specific cases it`s probably better to go with something like MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850 W. It`s decent price and quality with all the new connectors so will run fine with new Nvidia cards.

be quite straight power is by far the best choice here has the Japanese 105°C capacitors
and 5-10 year warranty.i use the be quiet! Straight Power 11 1200W Platinum, 80 PLUS and
its performance is exceptional

I have destroyed Fsp for 10 years, thermaltake for 6 years. Now using zallman.. Choose your PSu for quality.

The be quiet! unit is one that I recall is manufactured by SeaSonic, so it's by far the best, SeaSonic units tend to be more reliable. It's also rather quiet under moderate load according to testing.

Most of Corsair's units like RMx are usually manufactured by Channel Well Technologies which is a huge mixed bag, and the GF A3 is the only unit here that isn't Tier A, it's at best a Tier B. Thermaltake units are mostly overpriced junk that don't last very long.

can't go wrong with either the RM-x SHIFT (i believe it's compatible!) or SP11. iirc the latter's the slightly better unit, but don't quote me on that.
as for why i don't think the GF A3 is a good choice: it was swapped to a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ CE-Link platform which has nigh-defunct protections and has died or exploded on multiple reviewers. i do believe the swap only applied to North America, but even if it's "safe" where you live I'd avoid it regardless

SHIFT and SP11 are both Tier A units, there isn't much of a quality difference but SP11 is made by SeaSonic so it has greater inherent trust due to SeaSonic's reputation, that's all, CWT can still make good units and their best units usually go to the higher end

SP11 is multi-rail only, SHIFT is single rail only, both of those are both good and bad for different reasons

What mainly matters in the end is if the SHIFT has the use in your chassis or not

for a quick correction, the SP11 is made by FSP, like a lot of be quiet!'s other units. i don't actually think be quiet! works with Seasonic that often (maybe on, like, one or two models?), and even if they did, that wouldn't affect my judgement. mostly because an OEM being a 'mixed bag' (this essentially says 'they make low and high-end units', which loosely applies to a majority of OEMs and Seasonic as well) doesn't matter unless they're wildly irresponsible as a whole

All I'll say is don't buy thermaltake.

For ease of compatability, I would stick with the standard psu layout.
I also found out about this unit which just fits my budget
Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3.0
Is this one better than the others.
I will be buying the PSU in about 20 days so if something else pops up, I will update the thread

Yeah it`s fine. 2024 release with 12+4 pin cable.
I found two versions of Seasonic Focus GX PSU
First version is GX-1000 ATX 3.0 and the other is GX-1000 ATX 3.1 V4.
There is also a bit of visual difference between those two so they are not the same power supply (slightly different cable layout). If i decide to buy Seasonic Focus GX-1000 PSU, should i go with ATX3.0 or ATX 3.1 V4? Also if i decide to buy nvidia gpu, should i use PCI 5.0 to power it or power it with standard 8 pin cables and adapter that comes with gpu. I read somewhere that its best to use nvidia adapter when powering their gpus since aftermarket 12vhpwr cables can catch on fire but i didnt found anything about PSU 12vhpwr cables so i am asking this question for the piece of mind.

I would say go for the latest version because of changes in the hardware if the price isn't a huge difference
Adapter is more likely to overheat then single cable. Less connections you have the better so would use the 12+4 pin cable that comes with PSU. Just make sure it`s properly plugged in and don`t bend the connector and cable at extreme angles.

this, keep the cable as straight as possible so that the connector isn't sitting on an angle
