my monitor screen is black but has power and is connected properly
My monitor is a lenovo d27-30 and apparently, it only shows a black screen, it all started after playing youtube it suddenly turned brown into a black screen that shows nothing and then it never shows display again. This monitor is my main monitor beside the second one and now I don't know how to fix it anymore by trying the fixes about this issue. Any recommendation or confirmation that this monitor is dead?

when you turn if off and back on again, do you get the brand logo?

Test it with another computer/console/other video source to see if the problem is your computer or monitor.

Test other cables or video ports.

How old is the monitor? I had an old monitor that started switching off randomly, turned out the power brick failed and i needed to buy a new one.

did you try another display, or the display on another device?

if it does not show its brand logo, or anything, its most likely bad backlight leds

its an edgelit lcd panel, which are a pain to replace
and when an edge lit led goes bad, it often cracks or burns the diffusing panel

replacing only its led strip will leave a dark streak or uneven lighting
ex. this is too common, all the burns and cracks are at the leds

will be better to just replace it

if you get another backlit or edgelit display be sure to use the monitors osd menu and turn down brightness to 75-80% so the leds do not burn out

I tried still the same black monitor. But last this happened it came back and show display but after 2-3 days it happened again unfortunately but this time no new solution at all

Does the monitor power LED light up and have you attempted to unplug and replug in said monitor from both GPU and power outlet? Thank you.

So, here is a weird solution that worked for my old monitors and it has to do with static buildup and discharging it (I think you are saying the Power LED is turning on without a visual monitor cue but here it goes):

My monitors used to go black at random, no signal, and basically not work out-of-nowhere at times, so the solution I found was to unplug the monitor power, hold down the power button on the monitor for 15 seconds, then replug the monitor back in and it worked and only one time more within 6 years did it ever do this again, plus I bought a second matching monitor and guess what happened? Yep same issue, so for me it was monitor specific on the ASUS but someone I helped who tried this trick with an ACER also said it worked. :yetuhappy:

Maybe I should have stated this earlier also, but for me, it did not matter if the system was turned on, it was better if it was so I knew the solution would work. :chirp:

That does sound like a power failure. My monitor kept switching off randomly and more frequently over time until it stopped powering on at all. Could be the same with your monitor.

If it has a power supply in the cable (a small box thing), you can read the model number on it and look for a replacement (or search “monitor model power supply” on ebay). But if not then the power supply is internal and you would have to take the monitor to a specialist for repairs.

That also sounds like a power failure. My monitor was also asus, specifically pg278q. Had to get a new power supply from ebay (there are loads of them available, which suggests its a common problem) and it is still working fine to this day, its 9 years old now.

Did you accidentally turn down the contrast on the monitor all the way? That can make it appear completely off.

How can it be a power failure when the monitors still run since without issue? Maybe more of a power cable fault than any true failure. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

I read "failure" as completely not working so maybe the interpretation is improper. :badluck:

OP's issue seems more like a power failure but it's hard to say. :chirp:

Well the power cable contains the power supply (on my monitors, some monitors have internal power supplies) which is a critical component. And it failed completely on my monitor and i had to replace it.

since it is broken, do you mind taking it apart and looking at its led strip edge of the diffuser panel
to verify that is the problem

when last used, was the bottom edge getting a darker/yellowish haze to it?
or was it flickering black
they will often do that before dying completely

you could sell its parts on ebay, power, main, tcon boards and foot/stand
might make $20-30 on them
