RTX 4070 Ti Amazon Scam

I recently ordered this gpu, and I received the package today. Turns out it wasn't the card at all, and I received a camera lens instead. I've already issued a refund, and I realized the vendor I got this from wasn't amazon. There is however a listing for $829.99 shipped and sold by amazon. I'm questioning the legitimacy of this listing entirely.

Does amazon even sell this thing?

Yeah, I did see that afterwards. I'm just so skeptical now if even the shipped and sold from amazon is safe. Feels like trauma, lol

This one, unlike the one you had ordered from (sold by Bestree Tech) is sold by Amazon, so it looks like a safer bet.

On Amazon, always look under the Add to Cart / Buy Now buttons.
For the ZOTAC 4070 Ti I linked above it says:

On a side note, please ensure you know the GPU will fit in your Case with a little breathing room at the end of the card so it's not too tight of a fit.

At least you went with Amazon on the first card and didn't get totally screwed. Other retailers might not have as much luck with it.

It's not just Amazon. Walmart.com have these scammers too. When buying, make sure it's shipped from Amazon or Walmart.

Apparently this is also very common with CPUs, and I guess those are even harder to trace because of how similar the profile is. This sorta makes me miss being able to physically go into a store and just buy these products. At least then I know I have it and it’s legit

I don't think it is a scam, rather the wrong product has been shipped. This is very easy with third party sellers on Amazon. If they incorrectly label the goods, Amazon have no clue. The Amazon staff ship what they are given, they don't ask questions.

There is a general chinese seller problem on all platforms. Its worth checking before you add anything to the cart.

Check the reviews for that shell company. It isn't the first time.
