I have a laptop I want to upgrade RAM and my graphic card
So, I dont know the tech jargon, Im an older fool and recently got back into gaming on a pc as when I played in the laptop, I enjoyed it way more than in ps5. Whats the most affordable graphic card that can match say a ps5 pro or better it? and I can upgrade my ram too right? 16 gb enough?

Are you running out of RAM? If not adding more will not do anything.

You typically cannot upgrade a laptops GPU.

Desktop graphic cards sometimes have a slot on the chips themselves, i don't know about laptops
1. post your spec if you want advice
2. you need a better laptop but better $/performance is a desktop
3. you can google how powerful the ps5 cpu and gpu are in comparison
4. what is affordable in your eyes?
its not a good idea to be using a laptop for gaming with 95 degree temps and tiny fans. But if you want to reach best possible performance, you need look into having an "external GPU" connected through the nvme slot, or wifi slot inside your laptop. This means you can get a mid range desktop GPU like rx6600 or rtx2070 on it powered by a Power supply something like a 550watt.

if i was you i would sell laptop and get parts for a deskstop instead, because laptops are almost impossible to fix long term.

Laptops typically don't have any way to upgrade your graphics card. It's all integrated. You can usually upgrade your RAM, but whether it would be worth it to do so or not would depend on what you have now and what it is you're trying to achieve.

It would help to know what your current specs are and what games you want to play.

it is not certain that you can upgrade your gpu, as it depends on your laptop model. asus laptops for example does not have mxm slots. if it is an acer however, it might have. my toshiba laptop have an mxm slot. your best way to find out if yours have is to search for it on youtube. wether you can upgrade your ram depends on wether you have available ram slots or your ram can be upgraded to higher specs. all older laptops have ram that can be replaced. how much ram you can use however depends on your operating system.

how do you end up with the weirdest hardware?

if the laptop does have the pci-e slot for mobile gpus, its still limited by the laptops power and cooling abilities
look up the specs, and find the gpu limits are for that model

Most laptops don't feature upgradeable cpu or gpu.

There are a couple of possible upgrade paths for some laptops. We need to know which model is he using before we can give any certain advice though.

Unfortunately, it is likely that you need a whole new computer if you want to upgrade, because as the others have said. most laptops aren't upgradeable. Some even have soldered in R.A.M.
