Okay sorry but this answer makes me realy mad.
This exact video is the video I chose my numbers from when engaging with r.linder...
So you say I should not take the 100€ I would safe from switching, I should not go with the better RT and DLSS that I like so much, I should not take MFG if I can have it?
WHY? What research am I missing in my evaluation?
This generation being at launch also is very likely to continue having hardware issues that could show up later, the 5070 Ti you end up with could damn well turn up faulty, die, etc.
MFG basically also requires Reflex 2 + Boost to not have garbage latency, and even though the driver has overrides on Windows, it doesn't mean it's just going to work well at all on games that haven't officially supported it and made adjustments to improve results. It's not worth taking risks on AND taking a slight downgrade, just get a better GPU that can actually handle the resolution WITHOUT AI.
Yeah according to those internet heroes here probably the best idea.
Just repeating what they heard somewhere to seem knowledgeable without the ability to think or apply.
Makes me almost feel similarly dumb to doubt my own conclusion in the attempt to find a blindspot I didn't take into account.
Yeah, was too generious in my good faith in you.
Stay in your believe I act plain stupid. I now hoped for a more reflected response as you are the person who told me to look how bad the 5070 ti performs compared to the 4080 just to find out that even in the exact video you wanted me to look at they show both are pretty much on par at 4k...

And the problems can only get worse with the driver override for games that don't natively support frame generation, it makes more sense to get a higher end card that already brings higher performance than to take stupid risks early adopting a new generation which can very well end up badly. Or do the sensible thing and keep using what you already have, because there's nothing wrong with it and doesn't tell NVIDIA point blank that they can build what's effectively a 4070 Ti Super refresh, for more money, and people will still buy it.
You're not selling your GPU and getting more performance, you're selling your GPU and getting very slightly less performance. FG doesn't add performance, it just adds extra frames while not actually improving frame times at all, and needs a lot of work to keep frame pacing more consistent with native, and more often than not looks like garbage. That's counterproductive to the whole freaking point of 2160p.
SFG has less of a visual 'hit' and would still allow the 4080 to get 100 FPS at 2160p easily, I don't see the point of buying Jensen another jacket.
12900k, z690, 32DDR5, 1000W
Actually made me chuckle :D
Yeah me neither. It's just this very unique situation thats happening right now combined with my very specific preferences.
Thats why I want to act and decide quickly because I can't imagine you can sell used 4080s for 1000€+ for long.
Sorry I won't engage with you. You didn't read or understand my post.
