ssd, fans, ram, do not take much <100w for all the accessories and mobo

cpu+gpu + 200 for a little overhead
or cpu+gpu x 1.5 for better efficiency or for cpu/gpu future upgrades

brand over pretty much everything else tho
corsair (non v series), seasonic, bequiet, evga are the only ones i get
80+ gold has been the standard for the last 10 years, avoid anything bronze or white

1000w+ if you are on the 90 cards of nvidia
850w if you based on the 80 cards or on the high end of amd
550-700w if your a budget gamer

these are just dumbed down recommendations based on current state of cards

i just got the corsair 1500i back in the day..
overkill power for 4 way sli.
most flat curve of amy psu.. so most stable overclocks and least wear on your parts..
+ seperately sold white fabric sleeved cables of same brand
i not felt like offbrand cables mor fuzzing with sleeving cables myself.

sure it was nearly 500 euro + 200 more for the cableset for a psu who cares:)

Aww. I wish I knew about this about two weeks ago. I've already got a mostly Noctua build and this would have been awesome in there. Oh well. The Asrock PSU I got is fine.

learned a few things over the years.....

1.....there are only a few true makers of PSU's and most of them are just rebranded from less then 6 total makers of PSU's......

2.....the best power supply maker was not sold in the US for decades do to being under contract for exclusives that gave us things like the first modular power supply to the first with active protection....that maker is SUPERFLOWER and if you dig in to the tier list of PSU's they made more A tier PSU's then any other maker.....(but you will have to dig as they made things for many makers including all of EVGA's power supplies until 2018 or 2019) every EVGA power supply was made by superflower until that point.....

3....all makers have garbage power supplies and you should never go just by name.....EVERY POWER SUPPLY MAKER HAS MODELS THAT WILL FRY YOUR PC.......

4....production line offerings of power supplies can change at anytime and a A tier PSU could be garbage in its second version under the same model number.....(corsair does this the most)

5....so many top tier power supplies can be bought for a lot lower prices if you do your research.....like finding a A tier power supply that is sold as a OEM with none modular cables.....

6....FSP the maker behind corsair and a few other garbage brands sells the most DEFECTIVE power supplies.....(they made the gigabyte power supplies that exploded)......
