New 180hz Monitor not running at 180hz with dual monitor setup?
Recently bought this MSI G274QPF-E2 1440p 180hz at Costco and decided to use it as a dual monitor setup for now with a MSI G271 1080p 144hz and I decided to check my refresh rate on my monitor's OSD and saw it was around 140hz-150hz found it weird but when I turned off the 144hz monitor it ran it at 180hz. Heres a youtube video showing the issue and another reddit post explaining a similar issue . My G271 144hz monitor is running iVanky 1.2 DisplayPort cable while the G274QPF E2 running with the included DisplayPort Cable that I believe is a 1.4. Is there any fixes that I can try out to see if it fixes?

PC Specs is -Ryzen 7 5800X3D + Red Devil Radeon RX 6800XT

rather use gpu software to set up graphics settings, than rely on windows :cqlol:

No one needs the AMD Control Center or the Nvidia Control Panel to change refresh rate. You shouldn't be doing it there anyway. Windows has built in settings to change it yourself direct from windows just by right clicking on the windows desktop and clicking on Display Settings -> Scroll down to Advanced Display -> Choose a refresh rate. It's right there.
you dont, but windows doesnt do a very good job at remembering its settings
the gpu driver would have more direct control over it
window is basically giving it suggestions, and the driver has the ability to override it
I have 3 screens on my computer. Two of them are 1080p @ 144hz and one is 1080p @ 100hz. I set the refresh rate by the windows display settings 4 years ago. Windows never forgot the setting, never changed the setting and I never touched the nvidia control panel for refresh rate settings even once.

Windows does not "forget the display settings" at all. That does not happen. You're completely making up nonsense.

and you need to use the gpu control panel if you want to use a custom res/refresh, and or enable gpu scaling/stretch/letterboxing

Are you the one had black screen problem? So what was the culprit?

Literally no one ever uses any of that for any reason.

its often needed for steam link/remote play
when needs the host pc cannot use the clients unsupported res/refresh

if the link client is 4k, and host is 1440p, steam cannot by default output 4k res to the client
you can create the 4k res in amd/intel/nvidia control panel, and enable gpu scaling so it will show something on the host display, and yet output the higher unsupported res to the steam link client

the gpu drivers have those options and they are there because they are sometimes needed
