New 180hz Monitor not running at 180hz with dual monitor setup?
Recently bought this MSI G274QPF-E2 1440p 180hz at Costco and decided to use it as a dual monitor setup for now with a MSI G271 1080p 144hz and I decided to check my refresh rate on my monitor's OSD and saw it was around 140hz-150hz found it weird but when I turned off the 144hz monitor it ran it at 180hz. Heres a youtube video showing the issue and another reddit post explaining a similar issue . My G271 144hz monitor is running iVanky 1.2 DisplayPort cable while the G274QPF E2 running with the included DisplayPort Cable that I believe is a 1.4. Is there any fixes that I can try out to see if it fixes?

PC Specs is -Ryzen 7 5800X3D + Red Devil Radeon RX 6800XT

Also I tried to see if I set my G271 Monitor to 60hz and the other 180hz monitor went down to 60hz as well

are both using dp?

configure them using amd gpu control panel, not windows
make sure amd eyefinity is not enabled

both using dp and not using eyefinity. I tried making my 1440p as the main monitor and it seems to fixed it but was wondering if there was a setting for it cause I rather prefer my 1080p as my main monitor.

Configure each Display screen res + refresh rate within NVIDIA Control Panel.
Make sure the cables are DP rated for at least 1.4 soec

op has an amd gpu

primary monitor should not make a difference
after setting res/refresh, you can change primary back to the one you mainly use for games

windows taskbar can be moved to either or both

Well IDK how to do those changes on AMD Adrenalin I guess it has all of that for each Display refresh and such.

its buried in there somewhere, even intel has display refresh rate settings

LOL yea Intel's is simple and easy.

Sounds like AMD just relies upon with WinOS has available, which is 100% dumb.

Again I keep counting the reasons why AMD GPUs sux keeps adding up.

You might want to check with them which OS they are using next time. If they are using Windows 11 in a multi-monitor setup then no: They can not move the Taskbar. Microsoft doesn't allow that anymore.

They can change it from showing the taskbar on all screens or only one screen but if switched to show the taskbar on only one screen then it will only show on the one set to "main screen" and we can't move it.

It has been 8 hours and no AMD troglodyte harassed you yet? Must be the holidays season I guess.

Jokes aside AMD GPUs are never worth the money. Missing features, huge hotspot delta that will degrade your gpu, GDDR6 lottery that will have you downclock your mem or the many dips you notice in different games.
I could go on and talk about zen2-4 degradation but that's irrelevant to this topic.

supporting NgreedA and the idea 8gb is all the Vram you need is DUMB.....saying that with a garbage 3080 that only has 10gbs.......

and regardless of people's egos setting refresh rate in windows itself is a great place to start......

No one needs the AMD Control Center or the Nvidia Control Panel to change refresh rate. You shouldn't be doing it there anyway. Windows has built in settings to change it yourself direct from windows just by right clicking on the windows desktop and clicking on Display Settings -> Scroll down to Advanced Display -> Choose a refresh rate. It's right there.

you dont, but windows doesnt do a very good job at remembering its settings
the gpu driver would have more direct control over it
window is basically giving it suggestions, and the driver has the ability to override it
