Google is still occasionally useful, provided you use &udm=14. And block it from setting cookies. And adblock the ♥♥♥♥ out of it.
Anybody remember Lycos??
I mean it isn't literally dead since they have so much dominance that it is a default search engine and is pushed as such, but I think a lot of people have switched away from Google.
I will admit that Google Maps is pretty good though. Not many decent competitors for that.
I suggest duckduckgo using the tor browser.
Just fetch results from multiple sources.
