you need an adapter
They make adapters to go both ways, you will want one that takes the single plug and splits it into two separate 3.5mm stereo plugs, but not a duplicator an actual splitter, that will make one plug the mic and one the headset, then both will plug into two ports on the board, one port for headset and one port for mic.

If that is what your headset is hardwired for, then you need an adapter.
but they do come with the adapter to split them for separate headset and mic
but yea, you also need to config the input/output in realtek audio control panel
But yea it's rare to see on Desktops, a majority of them never offer that cause Motherboards haven't changed their audio in like 10+ years.
