vulkan why? cross compatible heck makes it alot easier to run it on phones too if you like to tinker and linux also translates calls into vulkan

universally vulkan is the better option just for that

as for a standpoint of a windows user either whatever runs better like say gta 4 i rather turn to vulkan with dxvk because the game runs plainly better with vulkan

poorly written directx code can often get fps boosts when translated to vulkan

the only real win from dx12 is that if i want to use reshade for vulkan its global meaning every game that is vulkan will be injected with reshade which can be a win for some but with directx 12 its on a per game basis

but you also got directx 13 which is directx 12 ultimate yeah dx12 has two variants defining it
can we forced game using vulcan, i mean from AMD adrenaline? or vulcan only available inside the game,

because maybe because iam using AMD, but vulcan more smooth gaming for me

yeah dxvk no driver implementation

custom hdr variant :

also weird thing so vulkan should run better on amd but thats not true in windows nvidia has now a better improvement with vulkan then amd

however the roles are reversed with linux on linux amd runs vulkan better then nvidia

For many games that support DX11 or 12, if they do lack a Vulkan option, you can often times force this via the DXVK files inserted into game folder, from a Linux disto. I've done that for games such as Death Stranding and God Of War, no problem on WinOS. It just is good if it already have Vulkan options.

Vulkan because not locked to the Microsoft ecosystem/ open source.

either one

vulkan is the new version of ogl

any game that can use vulkan can run on win 7-8
while games that only use dx12 need win 10 or later
dx11all day when possible

For example i've tested vulkan and dx12 on rdr2, for everyone vulkan had the better framerate, but in my case dx12 outperformed vulkan, maybe it's because of my gpu or idk
Doom (that modern remake) runs absolutely great with Vulkan. At least around here it did.

Vulkan may not work so good on older hardware.
depends on the version shipped with the card for instance nvidia used to perform worse at vulkan under windows but now they work usually better with vulkan then amd

amd used to get better vulkan performance under windows now they often are worse

this gets flipped on linux

vulkan can also be used on cards that do not have directx 11/12 unless the vulkan version is too old

also rip mantle back in the day for amd it did nit more fps then directx 11 nowadays good luck getting mantle to work in few games that still include it
You can't just look at the API as it's on game by game basis. Sometimes Vulkan is best choice but not always. But modern games that lack Vulkan, you can usually force it
im a windows person. everything directx

Vulkan is good option on WinOS for modern games. Hoping that this update for ES2 that adds a PhysX option also changes from OpenGL 4.0 to Vulkan
