Kernel power 41 issue, Bugcheck 0x133
Issue has been happening for 6 months, tried numerous fixes and sent to numerous techs, they now may have finally found the cause but I still worry about one particular thing.

Issue summary - playing games, usually more demanding ones, monitor shows no signal while pc continues to run for a while, restarting afterwards (if it does not restart on its own, its done manuall). This happens 5 - 30 minutes into gaming, if the issue does not appear, pc runs fine the whole Day. Also, issue happens randomly, once in 2 weeks or 3 days in a row...

3 things show up in event viewer

1 - Kernelpower id 41,pc shut down unexpectedly

2 - Audit events dropped by the transport 0

3 - Bugcheck 0x133 dpc watchdog violation pointing out nvlddmkm

Now here is the thing. I already had my gpu replaced once and techs found out that psu might be the culprit (they tried Cyberpunk on 4k, rtx, max settings, psu is whistling / wheezing / screeching and scratching in a way, basically doing noises it should not be doing).

So I wanted to ask...could faulty PSU cause some form of Power shortage which would result in Bugcheck 0x133 blaming the Gpu? I am honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself at the thought of getting faulty gpu 2 times in a row...

My specs

Ryzen 7 7800X3D
4070 super Asus proart
2x16 gb DDR5 ram
SSD
B650 tomahawk wifi
Windows 11 home
Cooler Master GX III GOLD 750W (will be replaced by gigabyte aorus 850W platinum)

The only red flag I see is Windows 11

...heh, fair
If it's not the GPU, which would have been my first guess, the next thing to try replacing is the PSU.

If you're running with RAM profiles enabled, it wouldn't hurt to disable those for testing purposes. The X3D CPUs in particular see very little performance difference from lower frequency RAM (though the corresponding lower speed of the infinity fabric might result in some difference). Regardless, it would be for testing to rule out platform-side or RAM causing it, rather than to suggest as the ideal end solution.

I havent tried that (I think, not sure what RAM profiles mean) but I tried Windows memory test and memtest, both ran fine.

For gpu I tried furmark multiple times, again all fine.

It was sent to repairs 5 times.
3 times it was sent to the shop I bought the pc from, first time OS was reinstalled, second time gpu was replaced and 3rd time they found nothing

For the 4th time I sent it to private business, nothing

5th time I sent it to another private business where they found the weird noises that psu is producing...

I am honestly just terrified of the 0x133 since everywhere I read about it, its faulty gpu...having 2 faulty gpus faulty in a row just... Bleh.

So I am trying to find out if all those errors are a consequence of faulty PSU where the Bugcheck blames gpu that is not getting enough power...

I will get my pc back in monday with new psu...I guess I will see then, Im just hoping the dpc watchdog timeout was just a follow up to the faulty PSU...

Do a clean install of Win1q 24H2
Then ensure you download and install all the latest drivers for everything; chipset, hpu, audio, blam, wifi, bt; etc.

These are times when you wish you had a PSU tester (which are relatively cheap).:badluck:
Seasonic once tell me , if it was PSU problem, your PC will shutdown, tottaly, no RGB, no nothing, but if GPU crash or PSU overcurrent protector , your Screen blackscreen, but your RGB still on , its only shutdown GPU because it the one doing the spike,
and random Reddit tech AMD says : GPU black screen is a mecanism to protect your PC from something

now the solution : first try PSU, by doing OCCT Power mode just for '2nd opinion', i dont think power shortage could destroy a PSU, but the coil whine is kinda Sus , there is no other way than check it one by one
same blackscreen could have different cause, i even hear costum cable PCIE could even do that

My pc does shutdown and then boots up, its just so random that its a pain in the ass to troubleshoot.

Sometime it restarts almost instantly, sometimes it takes time, very rarely fans go bonkers 100%.

As much as I am utterly terrified of having 2 faulty gpus in a row, it also seems to me very unlikely. Also, given the nature of the problem, where the restarts happen very early into a gaming session, I just cant shake the feeling that there is that one tiny piece of PSU that when gets used, it somehow messes up.

I will definitely try occt if the problem persists (I so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Hope it wont, dealing with this for 6 months has driven me mad lol)

Thing is the psu doesnt just coil whine, it does something in addition to the coil whine. Technician literally said it can be heard across the room, some kind of rumbling or scratch Ing (I cant really find the correct word, english isnt my 1st native language), its definitely not just coil whine.
