that moment when you ordered new RX 9070 XT just to get hit with a
Insufficient stock to process your order(s) email -.-

Update: I was ordering what I could and managed to pre-ordered an:

XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC White Triple Fan Gaming Edition with 16GB GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP. (I realize It's the non XT version. It's too late as XT version is SOLD OUTeverywhere).

Which releases on the 8th. I never pre ordered a gpu before and I don't know when it will charge me. I assume on the release date? I hope this one was a good pick.

Update: I canceled my order on the non xt version. I really want that XT version for 1440p gaming. Wish me luck on getting the XT version! Thank you everyone!

UPDATE!: Newegg stocked two 700+ RX 7090 XT at 12pm central time and i managed to order the gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC for 790$ ! It charged me so that mean's it didn't auto cancel it! Coming to me match 3rd. Only thing left is to buy an extra gpu cable since it's 3 8-pins.

Update 3/14/25: My GIGABYTE RX 9070 XT OC came in the mail about last night. I found out the extra PCI-E was the wrong brand and almost fried my PSU and GPU!. I had to google to find the right one for my PSU. It's gonna take a week to arrive. All well. ♥♥♥♥ happens!

The 5070 is actually way better than the 9070 XT. Even a 4070 super is better than the 9070 XT LOL. Cope. Another BIG L for Radeon.

Seriously?
II suggest you look into much VRAM is needed for a lot of the latest games.
The RTX 5070 is future unproof!
5070 is a low /midtier 1440p card. You don’t need that much VRAM at 1440p. What do you expect when buying low/mid tier level? Of course you’re not gonna get ultra graphics at 4k with Ray tracing.

You are not making an argument to counter, just stating a factually incorrect opinion.

Anyway, my point stands, have a nice day.
720p = 1280 x 720

2 * (1280 x 720) = 2*(1280) x 2*(720) = 2560 x 1440

1440p = 2560 × 1440

So my statement was factually correct, and yours was a logical fallacy.

Well done for proving my point, but, that isn't how math works.

1440p is not double 720p, it is quadruple the pixel count.

720p is 921,600
1080p is 2,07,300
1440p is 3,686,400
4k, well 3840x2160 is 8,294,400 pixels

So, yeah, 1440p is a huge step up from both 720p and 1080p, this, you were making no argument worth countering and just spewing your ideas as incorrect facts.

Have a nice day.

While I agree cards should be used within reason, the 5070 is not a great card and every test I've seen, the 9070xt steamrolls it, though, overclocking could make a big difference, but, overall, the 5070 should be labeled as a 5060, it's not even the same chip as the 5070ti.

Yes 5070 should have been called 5060 given mid performances. But as I said earlier in this thread the 5070 and 4070super are both delivering better performances than the 9070 XT in Ray tracing. Let’s also not forget that the 5070 has access to multi frame generation to massively improve framerate.

Any GPU released now with less that 16GB VRAM is an insult to gamers.

The RTX 5070 does not have low/mid tier pricing.

There are various upscaling & frame generation methods available & they are gradually improving.

The longevity of a GPU is enough VRAM.

https://www.cuemath.com/numbers/distributive-property-of-multiplication/

So we basically have (length by width)

Then 2 * (length by width) becomes 2* Length and 2* width

Length and width are two different units.

Literally no one asks, "what is the 'area' of your monitor in square pixels?"

Ok, I miss read the math (I'll be honest, it's been years since I usdd such calculations) as it contradicts what you previously said that it was just double, which is exactly what you said in the previous post

I won't alter the post as I believe in owning upto a mistake not trying to cover it up, so, I apologise, I was wrong.

You are still wrong about it not being marketing or that 1440p with dlss just being 1080p though.

But, I should of taken the time to properky read your post, your math was correct.
Well no see with DLSS 4 that game imagery can actually be very good and not look compressed or have any ghosting, etc

this is my last chance to get one. I need to fix my sleep first so i don't miss my chance. If the damn scalpers get them first again... I'll just call it quits and buy a steam deck oled.

I saw a reddit post with an "email from new egg" saying they put more out on that date and time. I hope it's real!

Now the question is~ which brand I should go for? That isn't 3 8-pin connector and awful high price.

here's the thing. The closet one is an hour long drive to.
Well no one here will have a chance at getting one in the short term from Newegg; due to the Bot issues. Until Newegg figures out another way, they will get sold out the first few seconds they make their sales live.
I did it! I managed to buy the gigabyte RX 9070 XT! No auto cancel. It charged me and it's coming in 3 days!
