No CPU clock or temp in Afterburner?
I just upgraded from a Intel 9700k to an AMD 9800X3D today. I admit against my better judgement I didn't do a fresh install afterwards, not really sure how to move all of my old passwords, files to a new SSD. Everything booted up fine, I installed the chipset drivers from ASUS's website, computer seems to be running fine. But wanted to see how well it does in games and loaded up Forbidden West. I turned on MSI Afterburner and most of my monitored functions were missing including CPU temp and frequency. They were both there and working prior to the surgery.

You could try Hwinfo as it integrates with Rivatuner. If you open up the sensor on Hwinfo and hit the gear button at the botton there's a tab for RTSS. Set up whatever you want to monitor making sure you change the row number for each entry otherwise you'll end up with the stats spread across the screen.

or get a 2nd display for monitoring, chat and other stuff while you play

You might just want to uninstall and do a fresh new install for MSI Afterburner.
There should not be any problems getting CPU clock and temp in there.

You didn't do a frensh windows install? Is this Linus tech trips trolling the forums?

Did some reading last night and discovered this is a problem with the new 9800X3D. People are using HWInfo to get CPU data I guess. There’s even a video on YouTube about how to set it up. The most recent version of MSI afterburner is from sometime in 2023.

Yep it's fairly easy to set up. I use it to get the VID for my CPU and temps for my NVME drives.

Glad I found this post. I did a proper install of windows and had the same problem where Afterburner was missing a lot of CPU monitoring options other than usage

Doing this worked me too after I upgraded my CPU. Though I did install the beta version - I'm not sure how big of difference this made.
