There is also pretty good price on 7900XT currently:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3BQcCJ/sapphire-pulse-radeon-rx-7900-xt-20-gb-video-card-11323-02-20g
Used to be, now it`s sold pretty much everywhere.
The good news for you is that A.M.D. isn't looking to make a flagship product this generation[www.digitaltrends.com]. They're doing this how they did for R.D.N.A. 2 and skipping straight to the mid-tier.
So we're probably saying we have new graphics cards in your price range on store shelves in mid-janurary.
Well, I’ll keep an eye out. Maybe something will become available soon. I was hoping to grab something before my Christmas vacation so I can do some serious gaming. ;)
Oh well, live and learn. I’ll just keep trying to find a good deal somewhere before Christmas. 🎅🏼
I really wanted a Sapphire Nitro though. Anybody know if the Red Devil is comparable to the Nitro in performance and value?
If you really can't wait past christmas for some reason, this RX 6800[www.newegg.com] for $370 seems to be the least bad if you really can't bring yourself to wait..
This 7800 XT is only $470 if you have to have a card[www.newegg.com] of that calibur, although most of what I've read is that it doesn't really move the dial much from the 6800 or the 6800 xt. That sale ends pretty shortly so I'm not sure it'll be the same price by the time you read this.
But look, also, despite being A.M.D's. closest equivalent the 7800 xt is a flatly worse card than the RTX 4070. This M.S.I. RTX 4070 is $524 with $20 rebate.[www.newegg.com]. If you can get a 4070 for $550, which is its M.S.R.P. you're not going to want to get a 7800 xt for $550.
I saw an XFX 7900 XT for $620, and at least one 7900 G.R.E. variant for $480, but I don't remember what the variant was. Probably another XFX model since they generally make the cheapest variant of any given A.M.D. card.
I also wouldn't buy a vcache CPU unless I use my setup only for gaming.
Your choice what you do with your money.
the 7900GRE might be bottlenecked 1-2% in some games.. but still give a better output than that 7800xt
