So the 5060 is not even released and you are asking people, if its going to be "better" than the 4070?

If I had to guess, nope, probably not. Buy the 4070 NOW.

This goes out to all of those "should i buy now or wait"-people out there.
BUY NOW, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!

There will always be better hardware out there. The drop new gen CPU's and GPU's on a daily basis these days.

thanks for reply
They are gone release 5090 and 5080 first, probably in January. 5070 and 5060 probably few months after that or in summer so you could be waiting for half a year for it.
Judging from their previous generations 5060 is probably gone be about same as 4070 but not better.

The initial RTX 50 series lineup might largely mimic the RTX 40 series in bus width/VRAM, and namely, I'd expect the RTX 5060 to be a 128-bit/8 GB product before 3 GB VRAM arrives. However, that's purely a guess of mine. As someone said above, the RTX 5060 is neither released nor announced.

It's unlikely to come until Q2 2025 at best, so unless you want to wait a third of a year or so, I'd get the RTX 4070 now.

as every single pc builder says, just upgrade it along the way if it stops working on what you need to use it for, still using a 3060 and you guys are talking about the 50 series, works fine on literally every single game i play with minor settings tweaking

lol fr buy what suits your needs,

i still have a gtx 1070 and it's fine for 1080p 60fps in most games

exactly, i only upgraded from a 1660 to a 3060 because i couldn't run into the radius 2

and only because of that (i am very financially responsible)
Even when the 5000 series does launch, that doesn't mean the 60 class card will launch alongside it. A.M.D. and Nvidia usually launch at the top of their stack and work their way down. The 60 class card probably won't launch until at least 3 months down the line, and probably more like 6 to 8 months based on the prior couple of generations if I recall correctly.

Still, I'd recommend holding your horses. A.M.D. is looking to capture the mid-range market this generation and we are likely to get new A.M.D. G.P.Us. at C.E.S. next month.[gamerant.com]

If the 5060 is what you're waiting for, then just get the 4070 now. There's no way the 5060 is going to be faster, and the 5060 only comes with 8gb of VRAM. The 5060 Ti probably won't even be faster than the 4070. The only thing that would save the 5060 Ti, in my eyes, is if it's faster than the 4060 Ti, has 16gb of VRAM, and is 200W or less in power consumption. If it fails on any of those points, then I'm just going to get a 4070, because Blackwell's power consumption numbers aren't impressing me, so far. The 5070 is going to be at 250W, and that's too much for my poor power supply. With the 5070 at 250W, I'm expecting the 5060 Ti to come in at 220-230W, which is too much. Nvidia used to be known for better power efficiency than AMD, but this generation may flip that. I'm still not counting on AMD to lower their power consumption, though. They have a horrible history of power consumtion 20-30W higher than the equivalent Nvidia card for several generations now.

Wait a few months until they release the specs for the 5060 and independent reviews are published. Until then no one can tell but given how underwhelming the higher end Blackwell skus are, I doubt the 5060 will be anything but another vram crippled subpar product that clueless consumers buy.
Unless you enjoy dlss
also where do you get news for a 5070?

so far only a 5060 with 8gb vram and 120w tdp (and a price around 400 euro)
an 5060ti with 16gb vram and 170w tdp (and a price around 600 euro)
and 5080 with 16gb vram and tdp of 360w (and a price around 1600 euro)
5090 with 32gb vram and tdp of 575w (and a price around 3000 euro)

which ofcourse all is way overpriced.. and waaaay to hgigh tdp's

Nvidia just announced the 5070 at C.E.S.[www.tomshardware.com] so it's a confirmed thing now. I'm not sure what the intended launch time-frame is though. Nvidia is making the rather brazen claim that it is as strong as a 4090. That is ikely an exaggeration, but still, I can not imagine it would be weaker than a 4070, and it costs just about the same price.

If you took my advice and held your horses to wait for C.E.S., at this point you'd probably say to get a 5070 over a 4070.

Yeah, yeah, I know I advised to wait on the basis of anticipating A.M.D. cards, and you still might want to see what A.M.D. has cooking, but it doesn't really matter who made a more sensible replacement so long as it happened, and it did. Also like I anticipated, Nvidia didn't announce a 60 class card for this generation just yet.

there was a nvidia keynote last night at CES 2025

5070 $549
5070 TI $749
5080 $999
5090 $1999
I would never ever consider buying Twin Edge.

thats us mrsp prices withhout vat. I use announced euro prices including 21% vat.

but ok with conversion + that will translate to..

5070 605 euro
5070 ti 825 euro
5080 1100 euro (which is lower than the 1600 runoured before but still quite steep)
5090 2200 euro (which is lower than the 3000 rumoited before)

which ofc still is way to expensive..

than again it would not be the first time european prices are much higher than a simple mrsp conversion + vat.
