Lies of P was on UE4 and felt extremely well optimised.
I think it’s a decent engine but you still need some skill to have decent results. For some studio it’s the only chance to make a game as many less experienced dev employees only know this one engine.
That’s why new Witcher will be on UE5.

tbh the fact it doesn't support 7 is basically meaningless. the OS itself was becoming obsolete for gaming already when it was still being officially supported
The bigger problem with UE5 is how terrible Nanite can be for performance
