Multiple Bluetooth pairings on Steam Controller (2026)?
Given that the new Steam Controller supports pairing to two different pucks using A+R1+Steam or A+L1+Steam, it seems logical that the steam controller would also support two Bluetooth connections via B+R1+Steam or B+L1+Steam. Multiple AI search overviews have hallucinated that this is true, seemingly based on information from the 2015 Steam Controller, but as best I can tell this is not the case and the new Steam Controller only supports a single Bluetooth pairing via B+R1+Steam.

Personally, I would love to have multiple Bluetooth pairings stored, as the Puck won't wake my Steam Deck from sleep if I dock it while asleep. I would like to use Bluetooth to wake the Deck when the puck won't, but that prevents me from pairing the controller to any other device. That's a very specific example for my use case, but I can think of any number of reasons why having multiple saved Bluetooth pairings could be handy.

+1 for this. i really wanted to use my steam controller for more than 1 bluetooth devices. for example dualsense already supports up to four devices
the orig steam controller you could use 2 bt pairings

the new one is similar

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/1796-5FC3-88B3-C85F#switch
tldr: steam + b = last used bt device
or steam + start = previous connected device
and steam + y = forget previous device and pair to new device (last used will now be stored at previous)
