No point really going with older Haswell and H87 chipset when you can get better Haswell refresh CPU and H97 board for same price.
or get z97 hes right you also get sata express with up to 10gbs per second
I actually already purchased the intel i5 4570 and got it at 75.00 from staples and the mobo I've already bought at 70 from amazon. So it's quite a bit cheaper going with the 4570 and the h87. I picked them as a mid line processor and mobo as just basic items that will get me thru hopefully 3 years of gaming or more and I'll upgrade again. And going for them allows me to justify spending 200 ish on a good video card :)
I don't plan on overclocking at least not my cpu, I've considered the video card to overclock basically because of the 280.
And while I think the eyefinity setup is sick, I don't think I'd ever utilize more than two monitors.
No way! You got a i5 4570 for 70 bucks!! Nice deal, on other sites their 200 bucks.
Well if you have an eyefinity setup, definantly go with a r9 280.
I feel like I should go with the r9 280 just because it's the exact same price of the r9 270x.
Is there a reason to NOT get the r9 280? I only have one monitor setup right now honestly and my current living arrangement is small so I don't have the room to expand to a second monitor anyways. My dream is to move my computer into the same room as my 40" 1080 led/lcd hd tv and utilize that. But that's months down the line unfortunately.
R9 280 is not R9 280X, it's new card, takes 200W of power and is somewhere between GTX 760 and R9 280X in performance.
LOL, before I made my first comment on this thread I was going to say the r9 280, thinkin that he was talkin about r9 280X but at least I caught myself at last minute lol.
