Dont get anything lower then R7 260X, GTX 750 level for games.
2 Gb. 4 Gb version is just sales gimmic since the card is not powerful enough to use 4 Gb of VRAM.
Correct, the gk104 chip on the gtx 760 has been proven that it will barely even use more that 2 of the 4 GB of ram.
I myself can also "boast" in my old machine with a 512MB Geforce 6200, which was noticably weaker as the 256MB 6600GT. Though that PC wasnt used for gaming to begin with.
And good choice. Both the R270 and the GTX 760 are real gaming cards.
