Microsoft OEM Sticker.. on old case.
So, being all legal I bought the OEM Windows 7 64 bit. Just to later swap cases.. and now the sticker is on the old case and ripping when I try to get it off.

So uh... now what ? Does the sticker actually void CD-KEYs if it's not affixed (technically) ?

The OEM key is still in the box you purchased it from. Don't worry about it.
Actually I peeled that off since right under that is "You are required to affix this CoA to the exterior of the PC"

I believe it wouldn't matter unless you take your tower to a repair shop.

If you do all your own pc work don't worry about it.
For personal use, I never put the product key sticker on the case, rather I make a note of which system that product key goes with and just keep the sticker with the original media disc. As I never use the original media either. I make a copy and use the copy, so as not to allow the original to get damaged. Course I do alot of installs and such, so that is why.

But unless u are selling your system with the OS, or need to show proof, there is no need to have the sticker attached to the case.

The sticker is magnetic and reacts to your hardware, the Windows Operating System software then detects this, marking your PC as Windows Genuine Advantage, making for greater performance and enabling updates! This is why on the Microsoft website, it clearly tells you to look for key features of genuine Windows, such as the Certificate of Authenticity (COA), a proof of license label, and an edge-to-edge hologram.

Of course, then again, it could be just an useless worthless sticker that doesn't matter...

StoneCold: What?!
Just trying to say in a humour sense... The sticker won't matter at all unless a Microsoft repair store or some new buyer wants to 100% ensure your OS is genuine, without caring to actual boot up the system and simply check for themselves. The OS itself is actually already confirmed online, so the sticker is just a silly quick visual hint which people just assume will match up to the system inside. Unless your an education school or major business company, which has thousands of PCs, I suggest throwing that sticker in the bin and simply ignoring it.
