What i mean by "their price almost equal" is that their price are not much different. Ofcourse i'm expecting the best from the money i will spend which is around usd 150.00 max. Anyway,i check the price from different website:
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Carcharias-Over-Gaming-Headset/dp/B001PTH0VW
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104281
Creative Aurvana Live[amzn.com]
For mics you can either wait until a modmic gets back in stock if you prefer the headset feel, or buy a standing microphone.
Anyway, this is what I would recommend.

Also check eBay. It is good deal.
The better headset also here.

Or,
Maybe you can wait for few month more before buying better one headphone.
If you are planning to use it on an XBOX it should be okay, but for PC you will get a hissing/static sound in the headset. I tried everything to fix this but looks like it is impossible. If you don't know what hissing/static sounds like, it sounds like you put a speaker on max volume (sssssssssssssssssssss)
This could give you headache.
I'm thinking of changing into Razer Megalodon instead but does anyone know if that headset has the same problem?
this info literaly made my mind~ thanks for the info. Hope yours is not a defect headset, Im gonna get G35 this weekend :D
You need a good sound card. That is why it is hiss/static. Ever onboard sound have limit.
OFF TOPIC: My Carcharias is working just fine. No static etc. Not sure why you got that, but to be fair, most reviews say that it's the headset itself, and not that almost every other brand also ship out defect ones (may have been the case here)... Razer is getting so much dirt thrown at them imo, mostly by those who never even wear their brand -- at all...
--------------------------------------------
ON TOPIC: Personally I like to wear a bit harder material over my ears than the soft leather that in my experience tend to change shape if it get too hot.
@OP: If possible, head out to a PC store and wear/try out the G35 and then the Carcharias, don't rely too much on reviews. That's just my opinion.
You need to understand the Logitech G35 is a HeadSet USB with it's own builtin virtual emulation (not real surround), it bypasses any sound card all together (which can be good if you don't have a quality sound card). But I too have the 'eeeee' sound from the left speaker, only when the microphone is active. The rest is okay, but yes that gets annoying and many have had that issue. Some believe it was an certain PID batch, which has been fixed in the latest. I wanted to swap them but will probably only get a replacement - which I'll then sell on.
If you have a quality sound card, I highly recommend going Headphones over HeadSet, even Stereo 2.0 over virtual surround, as it will be much higher quality music/movies and the games will still sound fully surround via EAX, CMSS-3D or using Dolby Digital.
If you don't have a good sound card, consider a MixAmp instead. This works basically like an external sound card upmixing and encoder surround for HeadSets/HeadPhones.
The 7.1 surround on both the Logitech G35 and Razer Megalodon will be virtual (not real). Logitech G35 is Stereo 2.0 using Dolby encoding for surround. Razer uses their own Maelstrom drivers for surround. The Logitech G35 has the better range of features (so long you don't get that mic / left speaker glitch issue) and Dolby is more supported for movies as well, etc, while the Razer Megalodon offers slightly better sound quality.
I would suggest the Astro A40 (2013 Edition) with the new MixAmp as a good pick. Again this is actually Stereo 2.0, but the MixAmp is encoding it to Dolby Digital for surround.
Or consider getting actual high quality Headphones (Stereo 2.0) with a separate microphone such as the Zalman Zm-Mic1 clip-on. So long the Headphones run EAX, CMSS-3D or Dolby Digital you will still be sweet on the surround (left/right/front/back/angles/distance), you will be surprised how much Surround Sound HeadSets are mostly just virtual gimmicks and actual real 5.1 is expensive and hard to come by. Two large quality full range speakers vs many small tiny crappy ones - when your ears are still just two and can be tricked into extremely good position hearing.
It is the fact that Razer and Logitech are low end to mid end. They never have high end headphone.
Its good for gaming, and can utilize optical out and its surround sound is pretty accurate.
SPL is too much higher, so it is not very good headset. Plus, THD with at max SPL will be higher distortions. Ear drum can take about 88 dB, otherwise it can damges the drum.
