Whats Faster Radeon 6970 Crossfire or Single Gtx 580?

In games were only talking about,I dont care about benchmarks like Furmark or Unegene iam just looking whats faster for games>"? I have both set-ups and it seems to me like gameplay is much smoother on the 580 while the 6970s might have the Raw fps I think the quality lacks just a little bit. Whats your opinion?

According to tomshardware forums, a single radeon HD 6970 equals a gtx 570. So two 6970s will defiantly be faster than a 580

Maybe in overall fps they are faster? But I feel that overall quality is much better on the Geforce! I wonder if I can pick up another 580 and put em in sli against the 6970s, I have a feeling the Gtx 580 sli would be faster then the Radeon 6970 ? What do u think?

a single 6970 is equal to a gtx 570, so a dual gtx 580 will certainly beat it.

However unless u are grabbing such GPUs for cheap, or already have them laying around, I would avoid buying older GPUs such as these.

Instead look for ones like GTX 670/680, which are much better and can be found for cheap.

Yeah I have all 3 of them lying around- I get a nice diccount on this kind of stuff so if anyhting id buy another Gtx 580 from EVGA for a $100 dollars- Retail on those is $180 at Micro center. 100 bucks inst that bad for a card of that caliber.Iam kinda a collector and i do have my eye out for a Nice Gtx 4gb 680 lol. Now iam thinkering with my Intergrated Gpu the Radeon 8670 D thats on the A10 6800K, iam kinda curious what it can do.

You have NOTHING to be jellious about bro- My stuff is old, outdated and by todays standars probbly even funny compared to some of the guys rocking 4 Gtx 780 ti,s or 4 Radeon 290 x,s ! I just collect older high-end cards once there price drops i start buying. I kinda find it silly to pay $700 dollars for a gpu, I would if i had it but I dont lol.

In my opinion, anything is better than my gts 8800 and gt 540M. But yeah that stuff is getting outdated.

Nothing wrong with rocking a couple GTX 580 or 680 though. Still quite powerful.
Only reason to jump onto 700 or even 800 series GPUs is if u really need the newer features. Course newer GPUs use less power too, but still.

Up until recently i was a Radeon guy, Then tried the Gtx 580 and i was like no way in hell am i getting Radeons anymore lol! BuT I guess theres nothing wrong with owning both, Little Fyi for anyone who might be interested- The 8670 d only managed to get 20 fps on Metro last light all settings on low 1920x1080 and in my opinion very choppy and unplayable. Maybe I try to oc that little thing? I dont know?

Try ocing, it works wonders. I have an old intel pentium D with the gts card I mentioned and couldn't even get portal 2 to run. After ocing it to 3.9 ghz, I could max out portal 2 (execpt for MSAA) and get solid 50-60 fps.

Yeah I had a 6970 stuffed in there in a FrACTAL node 304 a10 6800 k but i was just curious what the i-gpu can do bye itself ya know? So far I have it oc to 900 mhz core, started at 300mhz . Gotta run a few games now try it out.

Go with the 580. AMD sometimes have driver issues with games, so if you want to see less of this then just put the 580 in. All together it's alright.
