PLEASE tell me how good my rig is....
Im pretty fu**ing desperate... i was promised this rig would easily play all the newest games on ultra, and im slightly lagging on bf4 and tomb raider. The rig:
AMD FX-6350 AM3+ 4.2GHz - i think its 3.9, but it over clocks itself to 4.2 if it needs
MSI GeForce GTX 660 1006MHz 2GB
8gb ram DDR3 1333Mhz

please tell me if its good because im quite worried.. as i moved to pc gaming from xbox, hoping i could play bf4, tomb raider (all the nice looking games) on ultra, and have only about 30-40 fps on these games...

try the i7 4770k processor and a 780ti video card. The ram is good enough but could be better depending on the latency CL7 for 1333mhz and 8gb should be enough for gaming.

So your processor is a bottleneck and your video card is at least 2 years old and not even the top tier in the 600 series.

If you want to play latest games on ULTRA you need ENTHUSIAST level components (like the one i mentioned, the intel i7 4770k and then 780ti from nvidia)

????????????????

wtf is bottleneck? and i7 is waaay too expensive. the graphics card isnt that bad cmon, and what games these days use over 8gb ram?

i love that guy btw. he explains everything xD

and i already said your ram is fine as long as its CL7. If you're on 1333mhz with CL11 that would be also a bottleneck.
so basically my pc is ♥♥♥♥..

Then you just wont be able to be able to run most newer games on max. First off, you don't neek the K version of a Haswell CPU. Those are designed for overclockers. And you don't need a 780ti either. Take a look at a 760 instead.
you didnt explain why the cpu is a bottleneck. i checked thousands of websites and noone ever said that nvidia gpu, with amd cpu is a bad thing
It's a mid range system. Don't expect miracles.

You'd only need an i7 if you were doing tons of Video Editing or Compression. Games won't make use of Hyperthreading and it ends up being wasted money and power if all you do is game.

An i5 is all you realistically need, they have enough power to feed higher end GPU's.
yeah thats what i was going to say... but for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake, hows the cpu bad?

on a scale of 1 to 10 how many would you give to the gpu and cpu?

and i paid 590 euros for that set up.. is it alright?

I would also recommend a GTX 760. I use one myself and I run tomb raider on ultra and it is quite smooth. BF4 not on ultra but still at high resolutions and textures.

True, I've got i5 3570k at 4.4Ghz stable, I don't do any video editing so hyper-threading would be wasted on me.

But you do need a strong graphics card. 760 is for medium details, 770 for high details and 780 for ultra details. So your 660 is already quite outdated for all of the new games that you want to play on ultra :)

6 or 7.

Like I said, it's mid range. Not weak but not God-like either. Did you build it yourself or have it built by Cyberpower or some other company?
590 euros? and you want enthusiast level fidelity? dude... the nvidia 780 is about 600 euros alone :P Are you nucking futz?
im sorry guys but seriously,i was an xbox gamer ok? i was promised that instead of buying an xbone, my friend could build a better pc than xbone and ps4 for the same price (well, it turned out to be just 90 euros more) and now i cant even play tomb raider or bf4 on ultra settings (although i play on high and it doesnt lag at all)....

and no a "friend" built it, and he recommended (|for the price of an xbone) the hardware i currently have, and showed y'all

i always wondered, i presume youve all seen the games on consoles right?

comparing.. lets say bf3 on console and pc right? how high do the settings have to be on pc, to look just like bf3 on console?

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
itll open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

cpu: if you want it straight, fx6300 is as good as an i3

mobo: if its a msi amd board, its junk
http://www.overclock.net/a/database-of-motherboard-vrm-failure-incidents

ram: 1333 is fine, most is cl9 which is ok, lower the cl = better (cl7 is about as good as it gets)
also if its 1.5v, it can be used in an intel 1150/1155 board if you decide to upgrade

gpu: gtx 660 is still a decent gpu, should handle newer games at mid-higher settings
