The proxy server is refusing connections HELP!

First of all im no tech expert so go easy on me.

Every browser i use tells me something about proxy server not working, also Steam doesnt work. It started when i was trying to download a mod on minecraft for my girlfriend, i followed a guide from a big youtuber and it didnt work, all it did was add a load of adware and i think a virus. I used a guide online to remove them, one being gorilla price can't remember the others. Everything went well untill i found out Origin didn't work and kept saying i couldnt connect in a orange box, i did some reading and found out it could be my firewall, i also read could be adware so i checked my files and found one for gorilla price so i deleted it and repeated the removal but i couldnt find anything other than this file. After i deleted it i get the message about proxy server on all browsers and steam will log in but only let me look at game library. the one thing i did do was go on firewall and restored to defaul, don't know why but though it may do something.

What do i do? im using my laptop at the moment, could i copy the proxy stuff from this to my PC? i read something that told me to set firefox to no proxy witch i did and it now works, but do i need to do this on all browsers or am i best using this proxy thing?

you should not need to use a proxy
disable it in your browsers and system (ie)
