Headphones.
Any audiophile gamers out there? I'm just gonna get a Blue yeti mic and a fairly decent headset without a mic. It can have a mic but it doesnt need one. Any suggestions?

Lol no, just no.

What's your price range?
I really don't know too much about mics, but I was told blue yeti mics are overpriced. Not sure if that's true or not.

In Australia you can get the Corsair Vengeance 2001 for $150

My price range is about 100-150 for each piece. Though lower the better lol :P

As far as the mic goes I have a Blue Snowball mic and the sound quality is very good. It doesn't have all of adjustments and settings that the Yeti does but I think the sound quality is on par with it. Check out Youtube for some mic test videos. Note that some of the videos won't sound all that good because some people don't know how to set up a mic and you don't know what software they are recording and rendering with. Just try to watch/listen to as many mic test videos as possible to get the best idea of which you prefer.

Will the Yeti pick up the background noise in my house? I have sisters and ♥♥♥♥ so lol. And will it pick up my keyboard and mouse clicks? >< I don't want that.

Creative Live Aurvana[amzn.com] - $70 Was thinking of purchasing these, but the fact that it doesn't have a detachable cable in this price range made me want to pick up another headphone.

AKG 240[amzn.com] - $77 currently (These headphones go on sale way too often at different price ranges, normally cost $100) . Really amazing headphones, grabbed them up when they were $60 and there's nothing worth complaining about. Well the cable it comes with is 9ft long, but the great thing about the AKG 240s is that it has replaceble audio cables which should be standard with headphones costing more than $50. A 3 foot cable should be enough[www.ebay.com]

Too lazy to find a link, but I heard the Audio Technica M50 is good at gaming too, but lack of a detachable cable at $120 is disappointing.
2days late edit: I forgot to write the product model ;_;

I looked them up on google and most people said they're crap for gaming since you can't hear anything around you. Everythings just infront of you. What do you think?

SuperB soundquality, robust design, comfortable to wear.
Don't these require amps?

There are 600,250 and 32 OHM versions available.

I'm using 250 OHM version at workplace with integrated soundcard and it works flawlessly. Only if you need really high volume levels / 600 OHM version, I would recommend amp.

Oook so its down to: AKG K 240 Semi-Open Studio Headphones (Cheapest), Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro-250 Professional (Not my favourite but everyone says they're amazing in the reviews), Sennheiser HD 558 (Most expensive) My favourite though. Seems a lot of gamers use these in the reviews. Which I couldn't really find any 'gaming' reviews on the other headphones. Soo guess I'll have to choose depending on how much I want to spend.

And for the mic its either: The blue yeti mic or Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser. Reviews says AT2020 is better for background noise so I may have to go with that since my family is loud as all hell.

If we compare specs (given by manufacturer). DT990 wins in every aspect:

DT-990
Frequency Response: 5 - 35,000 Hz
SPL: 96 dB

HD 558
Frequency Response: 15 - 28000 Hz
SPL: 112 dB

K 240
Frequency Response:15 - 25000 hz
SPL: 104 dB
