New Gaming Pc
I need some advice, im looking to maybe purchase a new gaming computer or build one but dont know where to start?

My budget is about £700-£800
Im located in the UK
I would love to run games like Arma 3 and Dayz at max with no problems (Might be asking alot with the budget)

I have thought about maybe building one myself but i dont know if that works out cheaper these days and where to start buying the components =S

Thanks for any help in advance

If you're really not sure then buy a gaming pc magazine and get reading. It's always good to read a lot of reviews and know what you want from your machine. Also, try out the website 'pc part picker' it's really useful for pricing, where to buy stuff the cheapest and it tells you if all the components you want really fit together and work as a system. I just finished building my first ever PC last weekend and this really helped me out so definitely give it a try :)

Build yourself, i did my first build a few weeks ago and it was easy also alot cheaper. If you google PC part picker it will take you to a site where you pick your parts and it will tell you where to get it the cheapest. Im no expert so i will leave other people to pick parts for you for that budget and that are compatible.

edit

I learned how to build from youtube videos. NewEgg does a good tutorial, there are also others.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Is it easy enough to build you own?

Hello

I would suggest pc specialist(www.pcspecialist.co.uk). they offer a option to pick the parts you want and they build it for you.

However if you want to build your own computer try this www.Scan.co.uk

Yeah fairly straight forward.
Most bits only fit in one slot one way round etc...
Google some guides.

As i was saving up i was watching videos on youtube until i had my parts, I would say it took me 2 hours to build, but that includes me instaling more fans into my case. I would say it was easy, i took my time and everything went to plan. Try searching youtube and see if its something you would feel comfortable doing. Could you save up more money? if you take a couple of weeks watching videos, until you think you're ready and you could save up a bit more to build an even better PC. This is just an idea.

Also people may ask if you need a monitor or OS.

It was relatively straight forward building mine, though I did have my dad's help as he's a bit of a techy as well. Like the others have said just look for videos online and if you're stuck just google it. The only problems I had were worrying about how much to push the parts in for them to be fully in as I'd not done it before, but the fiddliness isn't that big an obstacle to overcome. Just make sure you have an antistatic mat/band if you're building your own.

You should build a PC. You can build a very nice one for 800 GBP or less.

Here is a few I'd recommend:

AMD FX 8320 + R9 270X build for UK
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Rove/saved/23Wx
Total: £669.09

OR

Same build with R9 280X GPU
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2SomA
Base Total: £765.07
Shipping: £1.00
Total: £766.07

Or build your own:

Can use my builds for ideas but only ones marked "UK" are for the UK.

If you come up with a build post it back here and ask for tips so we can save you from silly mistakes like buying a cooler that's worse than the free stock one or buying a bad PSU.
