I purchased a gaming PC from ibuypower (before I got into building my own) and they delivered just fine. The computer ran right out of the box, no problems. After about 3 months, the HDD died and they sent a replacement that I swapped out.

I eventually got a better CPU (AM2 socket) and the specs for my MB from the ibuypower were sketchy - I wasn't sure if the socket was 939 or AM2. I called ibuypower multiple times to get a hold of a tech. They pulled up my order in the system and the guy told me it was AM2 socket MB. I pulled things apart....damn it! 939 socket!

While ibuypower might be able to deliver you a decent gaming PC that's a bit overpriced when compared to what you could build on your own....their tech/customer support blows.

Also, don't pay for their "overclock" packages - they price gouge you for something they simply set in the BIOS, they have to BIOS auto overclock by the preset options.

True don't pay for overclocking crap nope!

I'll take 6 cores over 4 with all that cache any day of the week. I recall years ago all the naysayers saying no one needed a quad when the Q6600 Core 2 Quad first hit and that a dual core was just fine, bought that quad then too. Built that rig in March of 2005 and it died in Feb 2015.. Ten years for that build and it could run tons of games like a champ with dual GTX450 OC 1Gbs. Only upgrade I did in ten years was 4Gb to 8Gb ram and moved to one EVGA GTX580 1536Mb card. Loved that $hit.

I won't take more cores over faster cores when the apps you like to run or how you use your PC won't utilize those additional cores to their full advantage. Also, the Q6600 didn't come until Q1 2007.

It was 07 ya you're right...ooops so 8 years worth of game play on that rig..Time flies!

Cores are relevant when doing other things besides gaming. I use my pc for work as well. Virtual Machine as a server for several applications.

Yeah, I agree if more cores are beneficial then by all means the purchase is justified.

I know this is a necropost, but... I was just looking for an app that would let me choose which speakers a given application played through without having to manually change it every time, and I saw people talking about cyberpowerpc and ibuypower as if they weren't owned by the same parent company and located 2 blocks from each other...

Made me chuckle. :3
