Problems with Razer Sabertooth
Hey guys, I just got a Razer Sabertooth, but I'm having troubles getting it set up.

When I plug the controller into my computer, running windows 8.1, it shows up as an "unknown usb device" and is completely unresponsive (doesn't light up, doesn't work at all in games).

I have tried:
-rebooting the computer

-using a different usb port

-Installing the xbox 360 controller drivers (regularly and in windows 7 compatibility mode)

-Uninstalling and reinstalling the device in the device manager

-Trying the "update drivers..." "choose drivers from my computer" "microsoft common controller" "xbox 360 controller drivers" method. This would work if it were showing up as an "unknown device", but it's showing up as an "unknown usb device" and the xbox 360 drivers are not presented as an option.

- uninstalling all usb devices and rescanning for changes

-updating my computer's usb drivers

I hope you've got some other ideas. Maybe the controller is just defective.

Thanks!

There aren't any.

Thanks. I'm already talking to Razer support, but they've been quite slow to respond and I thought I'd check here for ideas while I waited.

Did you have any luck, man? I've got the exact same problem. I've also tried everything that you have, except for uninstalling and updating my USB drivers.
Get this, though - I was just disgusted with the thing, so I unplug it again, having just failed again on the Xbox, and before I put the controller down, I impulsively plugged it into a USB port on the back of my Modem/Router box. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing lit up like a Christmas tree!!! Everything was working as designed, all menus, programming, back lighting, *everything.* Except for... You know... Work *while connected to ANY device that can run a video game.*
My God, I've wasted a pretty substantial amount of time on this stupid mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem. *Please* let me know if you've had any success! Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid I never found a fix for it. I sent it in to razer and got a replacement.

Nope, nothing. I sent it in to Razer and got a replacement. Best of luck!

I know I'm coming to this one late but I had a similar issue with mine. Try making sure you're plugged into a USB 3.0 port in case it's a power issue. Alternately, or possibly ALSO, check the advanced power options for your computer and make sure "USB selective suspend" is DISABLED.

Hope this helps.

This finally fixed it for me after pulling it out and putting it back in, thanks xx
