Video card dilemna
So I currently have a GTX 780 FTW w/ACX cooling from EVGA. I have a few days left to step up, I can get the reference GTX 780 Ti. I like the blower cooler personally, and I'm at 1080p with the ASUS VG248QE. I like to play with all the bells and whistles on max. My 780 does fine but for $200, why not have the top card right now. And no, I dont want AMD. Or my other option is get a 780 Classy from Amazon and sell my 780 FTW. But man that thing is wide! Just wanna see peoples thoughts. Thanks!

If you are running with all the shiny things now what gain are you going to get for your $200?

I guess to take advantage of step up and have top card. Plus I like the blower cooler and design.

What's the point, EVGA ACX factory overclocked GTX 780 is overclocked almost to the reference GTX 780 Ti levels already.
If you have the money and got the bug why not? Also the ref 780ti outperforms the Titan by quite a way, and the 780 sc = a Titan not a 780ti.Although you won't see much benfit at 1080p its not about that is it? :P

me does

thanks for the posts, still thinking
Better upgrade = 1440p monitor ;)
dont future proof....just a huge wase of money. take into acount Moores Law. just get a rig that will run all your games on what ever resolution u have and upgrade every 2 years
Agree with future proofing. It's a pointless endeavor for someone who "likes all the bells and whistles". I you are contemplating moving from a 780 to a Ti, your "future proofed" machine won't keep you happy more than 6 months haha. Future proof is more of a general term for people who don't mind playing on medium settings 4-6 years from now.
Look at the differences in performance and then decide if it's worth the $200.
