Try a few and pick the one you prefer. They're all very similar and perform equally well or equally bad.
If you like playing games and don't watch Russian porn sites 24/7 you should be fine with running a Malwarebytes scan every now and then. Avast!, ESET Nod32 and F-Secure are good.

It is not in right subfolder but I would recommend Avast! since they almost never fail VB100 test.

Many AV's have free trial versions, give those a go and see which one is the best.

ESET Smart Security 7 is the best antivirus according to me. It's really light for system (it uses 100mb-200mb RAM) and
The norton lineup, it is very helpful and high rated and i dont think ive ever had an issue with it, plus if you get norton 360 it can do automatic tuneups for you.

Microsoft Security Essentials in addition to Malwarebytes should suffice, and for a backup AV theres plenty of free online AV scanners to choose from.

when you play games make sure you disable the ant virus because it can slow down the performance of pc games.

That depends on the AV and mainly has to do with AVs that have realtime scanning.

ESET is good. MSE is trash. It runs on high system resources and rarely even detects anything.

Tell that to the reviewers.

i dont think it really matters. also, never pay for a suite unless you have plenty of cash to burn; ALL of them are free as trials are unlimited; you do have to reinstall. that said i dont even stick w/ the same one, jsut DL whatever floats myboat at the time. using bitdefender right now, ahve used avast, norton & kaspersky.

since this is steam: bitdefender has a gaming mode (which i assume is less intensive), kaspersky can be paused while gaming, avast just has a default 'silent' mode (called silent/gaming), & i cant recall norton's offering.

bitdefender, kaspersky, & norton are rated as the best overall by a pretty long stretch by pretty much all reputable sites.
