Poor wifi connection on a single pc
I have the following issue, for about 3 days.

I have very poor internet connection on my girlfriend's pc. All the other networks on are working fine, the network in question that is very poor, and most of the time disconnecting after 2 minutes, is working fine on my other pc and phone.

Since that is the only network with good bandwidth, I'd like to enable it to her for downloads.

What can I do? I have tried disabeling the adapter (Tp Link 802.11 pcie wireless adapter), as well as reinstalling the drivers. I chose to forget the network in question, and reconnected to it again.

Any other ideas on what can I do to fix it? Has anyone else encountered similar stupid Windows 10 issues?

The network itself is probably fine. It sounds like poor connection strength between the router and the wireless adapter. Does it work fine if it is connected with ethernet (wired) or if the PC (if it is a laptop or otherwise can be moved) is closer to the router?

It works very well on an ethernet cable, and it is close enough to the router. Worked perfectly for a year, and now suddenly has a ton of issues. It's clearly my pc, and probably something software related

Presuming you checked this, but to rule them out...

Restarting the router doesn't help?

Checked what has changed between it working fine and now?

That change may not be with the PC itself, but something else causing interference maybe?

I'm typically not too well versed when it comes to networking, but working fine before and not working now means a change caused it (even if that change is bad hardware).

press windows key + x and click on device manager. Any exclamation marks, etc... in there.

press windows key + x and click on settings. Then network and internet. There's a network reset option.

pc running ok? Ram speeds correct and pc not overheating?

Virus scan?

Using a dns or vpn service that might be effecting stuff?

factory reset the router as a last resort?

Check the driver in device manager, if its the generic microsoft then it may have been replaced by an update. Many people disable driver updates to prevent that happening.
