Aliexpress & Shein GPUs
How legit are they?
Recently saw a SOYO AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT for 140€ and thought damn.
I see thousands of positive reviews off these chinese brands such as SOYO, VEINEDA apparently they are used cards with a replaced pcb so I was wondering.

Mainly, those are fakes with a flashed BIOS.
You get a turd of a videocard with a new air cooler and a BIOS that makes it pretend to the OS it's something better.
Which will only work as far as you attempting to install a videodriver from either AMD or nVidia. Which will fail as they check in more detail.

Oh, I have seen those on Amazon as well, but they are mostly RX 580s, and few of these brands even though I haven't heard of them, they always show up in different GPUs maybe it is well known in east asian markets, but I can't be sure.

I won't be surprised if half of them are fake though, they do look quite the same but in different packaging you'll notice that if you were looking into RX 580s, or GTX 1660 Super

Yeah, some of the better comments say it's plain 5700 with XT bios, power reduced to 100W and other tweaks. Some specimant DOA getting only half price as refund unless you actually send it back for similar loss on posting. Then also hundreds of reviews happy with it -- if cheap enough and actually works giving picture. Not sure if you can edit the review after sending, i.e if the card dies 1 month later. Even a full genuine card without realistic working warranty is a hefty risk.

I see a vendor that offers it for under 100EUR as opposed to the majority of the 140-ish. :->

Oh right, I have seen RX 5000s cards as well, and the prices are very tempting, but I would rather go looking for a used market instead.

It is quite risky, that is why I can't rely on reviews most of the time, I have to check an actual review, if for some reason I want to buy those GPUs.

Damn, hope you got your money back, or got your cooler in good quality.

These are legit brands. Mostly popular in Countries like Brazil, Africa, and since that don't get Computers parts like in North America, XFX, MSI, SAPPHIRE, ASROCK and such due to high import taxes. They work and run why risk buying something that is going to take a month or 2 to get to your soil? I ordered lots of stuff from Aliexpress or from overseas. Sometimes stuff came broken be I din't care it wasn't expensive. Why risk for a GPU it if it comes broken, your going to have to wait and ship it back going to take another month before you can get a refund.

If you ever get your hands on a gpu that you are feeling doubtful about, I would use the GPU-Z to verify what it is. You get it off the TechPowerUp site.
