What screws does the Crucial MX500 SSD use?

I bought the SSD but the damn thing didn't come with any mounting bracket or screws. I have a Deepcool Matrexx 50 PC case which apparently has 2 slots for 2.5 SSD drives. It looks like I could just simply screw the damn drive onto the case slot but I don't know which screws to use.

I looked it up and they said it uses M3.5 screws. Do any M3 5 screws work or are there specific types? And can I just screw it on without any mounting bracket? I'm gonna screw it to the back of the motherboard tray anyway so I'm not worried about appearances.

2.5 inch SSDs use the same screws as you'd use for 5.25 Optical Drives (the ones with very close/tight threads). M3x5, 0.5mm pitch screws

The screws that are physically larger would be for mounting the Motherboard, PSU, Slotted Cards, and 3.5 inch HDDs

All needed screws aside from maybe extra screws for mounting Fans, should be included with your Case. Make a habit of keeping all the screws any any extras for said PC in the Motherboard box.

And with 2.5 inch SSDs it's not a big deal anyways because these drives are so light and don't have moving parts they can be mounted anywhere, like with double-sided tape or velcro, or even left to sit loose inside a drive bay or at the bottom of your Case. Just ensure the SATA power and data connections are secure.

Yeah, unfortunately mine was a prebuilt PC that didn't come with any screws. Or at least, I didn't see any in the box. Nor mounting brackets. I probably have some screws in my dad's toolkit. I just wanna make sure I can screw it to the motherboard tray from the bottom.

The SSD looks like it has 4 holes on the bottom and 2 holes on each side to accommodate either mounting it in a mounting bracket or simply screwing it directly to the tray. Just wanna make sure the latter option is a viable option. And that those holes ARE for screws and not something else.

But like I said, there is no need to mount the drive at all. It's no going anywhere.
If you do move the system, just be mindful that the drive is loose. Which shouldn't only be a problem should you need to lay the Case down Motherboard-side flat. In which case I would open the side panel and disconnect the drive and set it aside if you do need to do that with the system at some point. It's not as if they need active airflow.

If you DO use any sticky method; such as double sided adhesive tape or velcro, please do this first. Take and custom cut some transparent clear packing tape to fit over any Brand Maker's stickers on the drive. This way they will be protected from any harm, ripping, fading, etc. While still able to see the information once the other addon adhesive strip is removed, if need be later on. In case of needing to use Drive Warranty.

Yes that is 2 of the 4 ~ 2.5 inch Drive placements.
2 behind Motherboard and then 2 off to the right hand side. The 2 on right hand side would be more suited for showing off the drive.

On most 2.5 inch SSDs the side holes use the 3rd screw shown.
But the bottom holes on the same SSD may use the 2nd screw shown.

use the screw, seriously if you dont have extras you shouldnt be installing them or be any kind of support service

I don't think they are m3.5, they are M3x5. These are a size that is very commonly used in PC's. They look similar to all the screws in a PC but they have a very fine thread.

If you buy a mounting bracket most come with micro metric screws which are either M3 type x 4mm or 5mm (both work fine) also called M3x4 or M3x5.

You can buy a bag of them cheap on Amazon and eBay.

I have 50 lying around I could give to you.
