How many case fans does one need?
How many fans should I put in the Meshify 2 Compact case for 50-60°C stress test temps with 8core Zen2 and EVO 212? Furthermore, would a bottom intake help lower gpu temps under load to 50-60°C as well(2070S)?

Depends on the fans used, filters, speeds and fan location/directions.

Usual is

Rear/top exhaust
Front, bottom and side as intake.

Different cases and hardware will effect the 'best' setup but that will take testing fans in different orientation.

I tend to go overboard using as many fans as I can. Though is more fans running at lower speeds push/pull the same air as less running faster. Nothing about speed in this. It's all about cooling vs noise for me.

Highly depends, for most PCs at least 1 fan pulling air out of the case.

You can leave the 2x 140mm in the front and the 120mm in the rear.
Go one more fan in the top and youre good to go. Depending on airflow and how powerful the 140mms are, you can go for another fan in the top.

So if I put two Noctua A14 in the front and F12 rear exhaust, could I use the 4th fan(F12) as bottom intake instead?

I have 2 140mm intake and 3 120mm exhaust on my Meshify C.

As i could see the bottom fan is right behind the front, in my opinion it wouldnt change much.
If you have a fan left anyway you can mount it in the bottom.

When you press more air in then out (and you have dust filters), the case wont pull unfiltered air in through crevices or openings that are not fitted with a dust filter.

This isn’t rocket science but does require common sense. Some don’t have that. First off the case is the key of it allows good airflow. Also does tour gpu put off a lot of heat because it can cause other components to over heat like a radiator mount to the top which will cause cpu to over heat. Personally I would only buy blowstyle cooling gpu cards but they don’t make a lot any more

I have a Ryzen 7 3700X, and I don't get temperatures quite near that low with much better air cooling than an Evo 212. My results aren't the limit on the lowest you can achieve or anything, but based on what I do get, the temperatures you're setting as a goal sound like they would need better than air cooling to achieve under those circumstances.

I plan to spend like $400 to get a new case+fans and "upgrade" to that "beast" 212 Evo.

Consider the Noctua 1700 redux 4-pin ones on Amazon for like $13 a piece. They're pretty much silent up to like 50% usage but do get a but out at full speed obviously. They're non rgb though. Dump a bunch of those in any case and you should be good.

1x 120mm in the back

Temps couldnt get any better, but you have to clean the dust every month or so

oh, well I got four of those literally yesterday and they are literally like silent at idle. As soon as I open up my video capture program or anything that starts really using my CPU then it do start to hear a little whirr or humm from them, and at full speed they are pretty damn loud just like any other fan I suppose. But I love them so far. I like the fact that they have no RGB.

I read one of the reviews on Amazon that scared me. Some dude was talking about how you needed to buy special screws or anti-vibration pads or something for these and was wondering was I going to regret the purchase? but turns out they're just like any other fan. First time buying a Noctua so wasn't sure what to expect. I did choose the silent profile in my motherboard settings though, but motherboard still auto-adjusts them as needed. Currently at idle my cpu's at 37/38 degrees. I used one of the Noctua's to replace the stock Bequiet! fan since I just got that cooler to replace my Hyper 212.

I also would tell you to consider saving your money. I put these on a like $65 case. I always cheap out on cases and my temps are always decent. Long as you apply the paste right, and get some good fans then you should be ok.

Guys i am facing a similar problem

I have a GIGABYTE B550M DS3H motherboard and i want to buy a case to put 6 fans in it.

But how do i know how many fans my MOBO supports ?
