Games can not find My Documents in Windows, need help editing registry please.
Please help me, I may need to reformat and re-install windows 10 if I can not find out what the default value is for the registry key I changed by mistake. The key sometimes appears in some registries starting on windows 7 and every subsequent windows version.

In the windows registry I had an issue with windows not finding my documents so I changed the registry key for my documents in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders to the right path, F:\My Documents. It kind of worked, but I mistakenly changed another key within HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders called {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} to the path to my documents, F:\My Documents. It was not supposed to be changed, and now some games and apps can not "find" my documents in windows. So what is the default windows 10 value for the key {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders? I want to change it back to see if it works. If not I may have to reformat and re-install windows 10 and hope I will be able to reactivate without issue. I have tried to get ahold of Microsofts chat support for quite a while, i guess they are backed up because of windows 10. Their phone support reps are sometimes incompetent and can not understand what I am saying because M$ mind control their tech support reps when I speak to them and they can't hear or understand what I am saying, and the m$ higher ups lie and claim I have a speech impediment or that I don't make sense. The rep said "hello, are you there" like 10 times instead of trying to help me with the issue.

I understand the key {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} does not exist under all windows 7/8/8.1/10 systems. So I need someone to please search in their windows registry by running regedit.exe to see if this key exists and what it should point to. This is a 2 minute thing that does not require you to make any changes in the windows registry. Thanks so much if you can help me.

Don't change such things as that in the Registry. If you want your Windows User's My Documents on another drive. Go to where your My Documents is and right click that and go to Properties and then change the location there. Then the location will change to a symbolic one; where you still see the full My Documents structure in Windows normally, but where the files are actually stored will be dictated by that manually changed location u specified.

I did do it in windows, but had issues, so I had to change it in the registry. Now there are other issues due to changing the {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} key by mistake. Just please search to see if that key is in your registry and what it says if it is there for you. Thanks.

F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756 is unigue based on your Windows User Account Name. So yea not going to work the way u'r thinking.

But here; look at this, hope that helps:

On my system, {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} points to the location of Documents, which on my system happens to be N:\Documents. I relocated all of the user folders (Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Music, Videos, etc) by opening File Explorer, opening the individual folder properties, and going into the Location tab to change their location. The registry entries here all match the changes I made from within File Explorer, so I'm not sure why you had to manually change the registry. Those registry values should have been changed by Windows if you relocated the folders the Intended way.

If the {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} key is intended to point to the location of Documents (which it does on my system), then the default value would have been %USERPROFILE%\Documents. However, if you want the location of your documents folder somewhere other than default, then you wouldn't want that key at its default value.

Ok then F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756
is present cause u have a custom location; thanx... makes more sense.

Seriously; next time don't go messing about in the Registry without being sure of what you're doing. Next time, right click the folder/key on the left hand side and Export that and give it a proper name so u know what it refers to in the Registry. That is how u backup entries; if need be. So if u mess up an entry, you can more-easily revert back to the default.
