Gaming Laptop No Budget Limit
Hello fellow gamers.

I would appreciate to have your suggestions on a gaming laptop to susbstitute my current setup.

Sorry for the wall of text and for the boring thread, but I think this is the best forum for this kind of discussion

I travel for over 75% of the year so in order to keep playing games I'm forced to rely on laptops.

The current specs of my system:

Asus
G74SX-91328V

Screen: 17.3"
Max. res. 1920 x 1080
Processor Intel Core i7 2.2 GHz
RAM 16 GB
HDD 750 GB
GPU GeForce GTX 560M RAM 3072
OS Windows 7 Premium

Its still running most games smoothly as I have not been playing the most recent of titles.. but I was thinking of an upgrade anyway. For example Saint's Row IV stutters a little bit too much on high settings.

Please avoid suggesting Alienwares as I've had terrible experiences with them.

I play various types of games, from simulators to FPS.. so the suggestions need to be good all around.

I'm tempted of going for the following but I'm not sure if I would actually notice any major differences between them and my current ROG:

Asus ROG G750JZ-XS72
MSI GT80 Titan SLI

I'd like to keep the 17" screen format if possible.

Thanks

If you travel alot do you really want a 'desktop replacement' laptop? I mean remember you have to lug that hunk of metal everywhere you go.

Get a Zenbook UX501

It weighs literally half your current laptop.

I've read all the posts in here and have looked at alienware's solutions.. however they still appeal less that MSI and ASUS.

This is taking me much more tiem than I expected. :D

Suprising how Alienware isnt really trying much with SLI graphics. Actually, from what I've had the chance to see, on the graphic card end, they're not putting much of a fight at all.

Allright.

GT80 TITAN SLI still seems to be the best pick out of the bunch:

CPU Latest 5th Gen. Intel® Core™ i7 5950HQ / 5700HQ processor
Chipset Intel HM87
Memory DDR3L,up to 1600 MHz, slot *4, max 32GB
Display 18.4" WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare
Display Graphics GeForce GTX 980M SLI Graphics VRAM GDDR5 8GB
Storage Up to 1024GB Super RAID 3 + 1TB HDD 7200rpm

Plus a mechanial kyboard with ultra low placement. Pretty cool for a laptop.

I've checked any of Alienware's laptops and they all offer less for more money.

The Zenbook is interesting due to its size, but tthe specs aren't very competitive if I intend on playing recent titles. Still pretty though, thanks for the suggestion.

The ASUS ROG G751JY beats my inital suggestion. Falls short on GPU RAM in comparison to the TITAN, but is surely a contender.

I've tried plaing around with the possibile configurations for the Origin EON15-X, still too pricey for what it offers. Plus its not available in EU.

The Aorus X3 is very impressive. But I really want to try out the 980M.

The Razer s also pretty impressive, but the 14" screen? I bet it feels like playing on a tablet!

If no major products come out in the coming weeks, I'm pretty sure that the TITAN will be my next purchase.

Sorry if I'm posting this much, I'm going through all the suggestions, even if I might have not replied to your suggestion, just know I have taken it in consideration!

So much big. So very long. Much text.
